  I’ve been eating at food courts on military installations for decades, and I can honestly say I’ve never enjoyed a place as much as Smashburger on NAS North Island. The food quality on base has often been disappointing, to the point where I’ve told myself I’d rather just avoid it altogether. But this experience completely changed that. The burger was outstanding; easily the best I’ve ever had on a military installation. It didn’t feel like typical fast food at all. What really stood out, though, was the people. The cook; Jake, I believe; personally brought out my burger. That level of care and pride is something you just don’t see anymore. He was friendly, professional, and clearly took ownership of the product he was serving. The rest of the staff and management were just as welcoming and attentive. This place is a win for fast food on base. Smashburger at NASNI has set a new standard, and I’ll definitely be back.
