  As a former student I can say that I saw Bellus turn around with the new director: Mr. Ivan. When he started he made sure to let us know “a lot of things will change around here.” It was definitely for the better. The director is a go getter and problem solver. Regardless of how busy he is, he makes time to say hi and even ask how your progress is going. Anytime we needed anything you can ask him and if he has an immediate fix, it’ll be done immediately. If you’re thinking about taking your first step into the beauty industry I can assure you this is the place. Everyone’s experience will be different but you get what you put into it. We all have bad days but be hungry to learn and show up for yourself if it’s really what you want to do.

  We had the pleasure of partnering with Bellus Academy as our Glam Squad Partner for an annual charity event called Couture for a Cause, and they were absolutely wonderful to work with! Floyd and his entire team were professional, friendly, organized, and so much fun to have as part of our event. They came prepared, set up early, and were ready to go as soon as our models arrived. They took great care of our models and committee members, helping everyone feel confident, polished, and runway ready before the show. They did an amazing job, and we received so many compliments on the hair and makeup throughout the evening. More importantly, their team brought such a positive energy to the event and made the experience easy and enjoyable for everyone. We are incredibly grateful to Floyd and the Bellus Academy team for helping make Couture for a Cause such a special evening. We can’t wait to partner with them again!

  I can’t say enough great things about Bellus Academy.! I have worked with Floyd for the last several years to provide hair and make up for the Fashion Shows I produce. Floyd, Mrs. Erika, and their team always arrive early, prepared and ready to work. Backstage of fashion shows can get chaotic and the Bellus team always handles the chaos with incredible professionalism and poise. I have partnered with several Make Up schools over the course of my career and Bellus is by far my favorite.

  Senior cosmetologist Viviana V and new cosmetologist Veronica H did a fantastic job with my root touch-up and conditioning treatment. Viviana was encouraging and honest with her teaching, and Veronica was meticulous and always gentle. The pair of them made the whole experience feel like a present day version of Steel Magnolias with their hilarious banter too :) My hair feels amazing, and I love getting to support the next generation of stylists! Thanks ladies!

  Floyd, I honestly don’t even know if I have the right words to explain what these events have meant to me. You’ve given me opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone, meet people, serve my community, and experience things I never imagined I would. But somewhere along the way, these events have become so much more than just events for me. They’ve brought out the best in me. They’ve humbled me. They’ve taught me confidence, trust, patience, knowledge, and how much I’m actually capable of. Every time I walk away from one, I feel like I’ve learned something new—not just about what I’m doing, but about myself. And honestly, these last couple of days have been very, very difficult for me. There have been moments in my life that have put up blockages and made it hard to see past what’s happening in front of me. But when I come out to these events, something changes. I can breathe. For those few hours, I’m able to step outside of everything weighing on me. I get to focus, help someone, learn something, laugh, connect with people, and feel like myself again. And when I leave, I feel like I’ve made a little bit of progress. I don’t think you realize how much that means to me. These events have reminded me that community is powerful. They’ve shown me how much good can happen when people come together and simply choose to help one another. And being able to be a part of that has changed me in ways I can’t fully explain. Floyd, thank you for continuing to bring me along, for trusting me, for teaching me, and for giving me these opportunities. You may see it as bringing your students to events, but for me, these experiences have become part of my growth, part of my confidence, and honestly, sometimes part of how I get through the hard days. I’m grateful for you, for these opportunities, and for every lesson I’ve taken away from them. You’re helping me become a better version of myself—not just as a student, but as a person. And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words what that means to me. ❤️
