  I was gifted a necklace about a year ago, and I’ve already had to have it cleaned multiple times. The employees at David Yurman told me that the jewelry reacts to your body chemistry, which is why it turned brown so quickly. But they’ve also told me that if you don’t wear it often enough, it can discolor as well. So which is it? For something at this price point, you’d expect it to hold up through more than a few wears without needing regular maintenance. Whenever I bring it in for cleaning, I’m typically asked whether I showered with it, wore it in the ocean, or exposed it to something that may have caused the discoloration. At some point, it would be more honest to acknowledge that the jewelry simply doesn’t hold up as well as customers would reasonably expect, rather than placing the blame on how it’s worn or lack thereof.

  Over the weekend, my best friend and I wanted to get matching pinky rings, and Donovan made the experience truly elite! His knowledge of the company and excellent customer service. From offering to clean the Yurman pieces we were already wearing to helping us decide on a ring, Donovan made the experience so special. Truly the best luxury shopping experience I’ve had in a while!
