The pastrami sandwich here is massive and ridiculously delicious! The meat is tender, perfectly cured, and sliced fresh right in front of you. The energetic atmosphere and classic NYC deli vibe make it an iconic food stop that fully lives up to its hype."
The hotel is just two blocks away from the train station, the lobby looks alright for NYC standards but not really good for a four star one. Checking in & out was straightforward and you don’t get charged extra if you lost your key card. There are two elevators that move quickly, I’d say that it’s mid-sized. The room that we got (1 king) wasn’t too spacious, but smelled nice and was clean. Breakfast wasn’t included but there’s a restaurant/cafe in the basement.

I stayed here for one night. The cleanliness was okay overall, but unfortunately the bedding had a very unpleasant smell. The pillows especially smelled strongly of sweat. Out of the four pillows on my bed, I could only find one that didn’t smell bad. I’m not sure if the room had been closed for a long time or if the bedding wasn’t washed properly, but the smell was very noticeable.
I also had several issues during my stay. I told a staff member that I didn’t have a charger, but she never mentioned that they actually sell chargers inside the hotel. I ended up going out to buy one unnecessarily, only to later find out I could have bought one there.
Later, when I took a hot shower, the alarm suddenly went off and would not stop. A staff member came to fix it but couldn’t, so he removed the unit, and afterward it kept making an extremely annoying noise. When I brought this up again, I felt like the situation wasn’t being taken seriously. Only after I insisted was I moved to another room.
There were also flies around the hotel, which I found very unusual, and breakfast is not included.
I wouldn’t say my stay was terrible, and I wouldn’t give the hotel one star because I did get a discounted rate and, for what I paid, it was acceptable. However, I personally wouldn’t stay here again. For such a large hotel, I think the overall experience and attention to basic details could be much better, especially if you’re paying the regular rate.

Where do I begin? We had booked three nights with this hotel. One night with points and two nights regular. I called twice before coming to make sure that we would be able to stay in the same room all three nights and was assured we could stay in the same room. When we checked in on a Monday evening, we talked to the girl at the front desk who assured us we could stay in that same room. This girl has a foul mouth! She talked about coworkers and swore constantly. Very unprofessional! The next morning, Tuesday before leaving for the day, we talked to a young Chinese gentleman and he assured us we could stay in the same room the next two nights. We filled out the paperwork and gave our credit card then left for the day. When we returned to the hotel that evening, all of our things had been packed up in our suitcases and sitting by our door in our room. I went downstairs and talked to the girl at the front desk (she was the girl who checked us in Monday evening). She said she had no idea what had happened. She continued to tell me stories about things missing from the hotel. The next morning, Wednesday, we asked to talk to a manager. We were told the manager would be in later that morning. There was a new woman at the check-in desk, but the same Chinese gentleman was there. We explained to both of them what had happened to our room and neither of them acted as if they knew what had happened (according to them). We had a lot of problems with our phone service while in New York. Apparently, the hotel called us around 1:00 p.m. and told us we had left a lot of our things and did we want them to dispose of them. When we returned Wednesday evening, we did talk to someone who was in charge. He told us that our room was packed up. However, the Chinese gentleman was still there and I said that we had talked to him and paid for our room for the next two nights. The manager said he was not there when this all happened and that the Chinese gentleman was in training. He said he contacted the girl who checked us in Monday evening and she told him that we were staying in the same room all three nights (even though when I went down to question it the night it all happened, she told me she knew nothing about what happened). They offered us a free breakfast, which we took. However, all of our things had been handled by staff. I had money locked in my suitcase and I'm thankful that it was locked. All of our clothes had been handled and all of our toiletry items also. Unacceptable! The manager in charge told us that the front desk people were in training. To me, that is no excuse. The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. However, I would never stay here again!
