Travelle needs to seriously reevaluate how it handles private events and the guests spending significant money to host them.
The experience of planning a wedding-related dinner here has been shockingly difficult. Endless back-and-forth, very little flexibility, and an overall lack of hospitality have turned something that should have been exciting into a source of unnecessary stress.
At this price point, guests should not have to fight to feel valued. A luxury hotel and restaurant should be looking for ways to accommodate reasonable requests and make important occasions feel special—not making customers regret choosing the property in the first place.
There are far too many exceptional restaurants in Chicago that understand hospitality and can seamlessly accommodate a dinner for 18 people. It should not be easier to book a large dinner reservation elsewhere than to plan an event with a luxury hotel.
I sincerely hope the owners and senior management pay attention to this feedback. The issue isn’t the property itself; it’s the way the experience is being handled. That’s particularly unfortunate because this was a place our group previously loved and would have happily continued supporting.
Special occasions are supposed to create loyal customers. This experience has done the exact opposite. I’ll make sure to never spend our anniversary, birthday or any celebration here again

Really disappointing experience with Travelle, especially given the level of service you would expect from a luxury property.
Our group was planning a wedding-related event here, and what should have been relatively straightforward became unnecessarily complicated. There seemed to be very little flexibility or effort to make the process easier, and the constant back-and-forth took away from what was supposed to be a special occasion.
Chicago has an incredible number of restaurants that can accommodate a dinner for a group this size with far less difficulty. For the price point and reputation of this property, the hospitality simply did not match expectations.
The most unfortunate part is that we had always thought very highly of this hotel and restaurant. After seeing how this event was handled, however, it would be difficult to recommend it to friends or family for an important occasion.
Never have any occasion here. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever encountered and gives me a headache. We’ve spent so much time going back and forth. I’d be better off going on Resy and booking a dinner for 18 somewhere else in Chicago. It’d be more seamless.
For being a premium, high end brand, they certainly have no grace, care or flexibility for their guests. I was hoping to have my wedding rehearsal here but it’s been the worst experience throughout my entire wedding preparation. And, wedding preparation isn’t easy as we all know.
I run my own business and would never run it in this manner. None of my friends, family or anyone we work with will ever stay here again. That’s sad because I used to love this place

I had an amazing experience at Travelle at The Langham, Chicago yesterday. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The valet service was excellent — very professional, friendly, and smooth. The restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere, outstanding service, and great attention to every detail. The staff made the evening feel special and memorable. Highly recommend this place for a perfect night out!
Thank you for an unforgettable experience! 👏
