I am very disappointed with the experience my family and I had at the David Yurman store at Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 30, 2026.
As we approached the store, the gentleman working at the entrance looked directly at us and then locked the door so we could not come inside. It was extremely upsetting and made us all feel judged and unwelcome. We were genuinely interested in shopping, but instead were left feeling embarrassed and disrespected.
Our group consisted of African American family members and friends , and I am an African American woman with Native American heritage. Because of how we were treated, the experience was especially hurtful and left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. While I cannot speak to the employee’s intentions, no customers should ever leave a store feeling this way.
I have attached a photo of the individual involved so that management can identify who was working at the entrance during this incident and conduct an appropriate review.
I hope David Yurman will investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that every customer is treated with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
If someone from management would like to discuss our experience, I can be reached accordingly at the email that I sent to customer care.
