A lovely stay at a wonderful historic hotel. Staff consistently went above and beyond to create a special experience for us.
Our afternoon tea was exceptional, including the tea, refreshments, and particularly the service. Deepak and JP went out of their way to celebrate our special occasion and provide the absolute best service, which made the experience even more fun, luxurious, and memorable than it could have been otherwise. As a PhD chemist, it’s not too often that I learn new science while dining - but Deepak gave a truly WONDERFUL explanation of our tea selections, adding a new and deeply enjoyable layer of information about the delicacies in front of us. My fiancé and I look forward to coming back for future stays and tea services!!
This hotel is beautiful and has so much history. We are glad we decided to stay here. It's the perfect location! The staff was kind and helpful. My daughter loved getting "Duck Bucks" at the library too. :) Thank you!

The Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C. is a truly beautiful hotel with elegant accommodations and a timeless atmosphere throughout the entire building. From the moment you enter, the historic character, refined décor, and overall ambience make the stay feel special. The rooms are comfortable, polished, and well suited for anyone looking for a luxury experience in the heart of D.C.
The hotel staff was outstanding, very welcoming, attentive, and exceptionally polite. Their professionalism added greatly to the overall experience.
The only downside is parking. Valet parking is $79 per night, and public parking in the same structure also costs $79 overnight, so visitors should plan for that added expense. Still, the elegant setting, excellent accommodations, ideal location, and remarkable staff make The Willard a memorable place to stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Willard InterContinental for five nights during Washington, DC Mardi Gras as part of the Louisiana delegation, and it was one of the finest hotel experiences we have ever had. This was our first time staying at the Willard, and to our complete surprise, we were upgraded at check-in to the Thomas Jefferson suite, one of the hotel's presidential suites. The suite was absolutely incredible, spacious, immaculate, and truly unforgettable for first-time guests who certainly did not deserve such a gesture. The staff was warm and courteous throughout our entire stay. A special shout out to Vanessa Perez de Contreras for (most likely) handling our unexpected room upgrade and to Julio for taking such great care of us every morning. This hotel has earned a lifetime guest. Any future travel to Washington, DC will include a stay at the Willard, and we look forward to being back soon.

My experience at Afternoon Tea at the Willard InterContinental was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, every detail reflected elegance, sophistication, and genuine hospitality. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning, making you feel as though you’ve stepped into another era of timeless luxury.
The tea selection was exceptional, the food was beautifully presented, and every bite was delicious. It was clear that great care went into every aspect of the experience.
What truly made our visit unforgettable was our waiter, Deepak. His service was impeccable—professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel like honored guests throughout the afternoon. His attention to detail and passion for providing outstanding service elevated an already wonderful experience into something truly memorable.
If you’re looking for a classic high tea experience in Washington, D.C., I cannot recommend the Willard InterContinental highly enough. It is more than just tea—it is an experience that creates lasting memories. Thank you, Deepak, and the entire team, for making our afternoon absolutely perfect. We will definitely be back!
