Elevators were not configured to go up to the top of the mark and the hotel staff ignored guests and were completely uninterested in helping. Multiple parties were entering trying to get up and confused. When we tried to ask the staff they said “oh yeah it might start working soon”
Rude and disinterested!

The rooms are elegant and well appointed. I just wish they had a box of Kleenex in the bathroom.
The location is perfect if you want to be in the center of San Francisco’s tourist and cultural sites.
The views from the top of the mark are beautiful And picturesque.
The staff is very polite, professional, and very attentive. I always enjoy staying here.
Valet is great. The courtyard is small and driving out through the narrow carriage exit is not for the faint of heart.
What a lovely experience! The bell hops that first greet you stole the show, Sal and his other coworkers were awesome and made our experience 10x better. Top notch service from these gents and made me want to return, we ended up staying at a different hotel the last two nights of our stay and regretted it, a night and day difference. They really have customer service down to a T here, would highly recommend. Beds were also very comfortable, just wish the fridge in room worked. We’ll be back next time we’re visiting the city.

I enjoyed my stay but it should be noted that this beautiful, opulent hotel is in need of renovations and better up keep. The doors and windows are of heavy, substantial quality. There is lovely crown and panel molding, as well as wainscotting and polished marble floors throughout the hotel. The high ceilings and solarium glass are beautiful. However, there are enough scuffs, dings, scrapes, dust in corners and torn wallpaper to remind you that this establishment is not at her prime. Our dark wood bathroom vanity had substantially noticeable wear exposing the light wood underneath. Our carpet was lumpy, needing a re-stretch. The front of the hotel was under construction with scaffolding but, at least they are addressing that need. I didn't see any signs of renovations in the interior. Again, a lovely, quality esthetic here in need of some TLC. Staying in the historic Hill area was fascinating! Seeing the trolly stop as well as the water from our room was delightful. As long as you are aware of the state of things here you will not be disappointed but if you are expecting perfection, you should be prepared to pay more and book elsewhere.
