I bought my wedding suit at Armani and needed alterations for the trouser length and the jacket fit. I purchased it on a Sunday, so there was no tailor available — only the sales assistants helped by pinning it.
A week later, when I came to collect it, the trousers were still too long and the jacket had many wrinkles at the back of the sleeves. The sales assistant tried to convince me that everything was fine, but after we called the tailor, she admitted that the sleeve needed to be rotated.
I left the suit for a few more days. When I came back, the trousers were better, but I am sure nothing had been done to the jacket. I had also asked them to steam it, which they wrote down, but I do not believe this was done either. The tailor admitted again that the jacket looked very bad and offered to fix it, but by then I had no time left before my wedding, so I had to take it as it was.
Be very careful if you are travelling or buying for an important event. In my experience, they did not properly alter the suit and seemed to hope I would simply run out of time and accept it.
