We had an absolutely amazing stay at the InterContinental Toronto Centre!
From the moment we arrived, David took such great care of us at check-in and went above and beyond to make my 4-year-old son feel special and welcomed. He is truly an asset to the hotel. We actually recognized him from a stay two years ago because he made such a lasting impression on us then as well! It says a lot when a team member is so memorable years later.
A special shoutout to Aisling, the Guest Relations Manager, as well for the warm welcome and for helping make our stay so enjoyable.
The entire experience was wonderful. The housekeeping team added such thoughtful touches to our room, including arranging our son’s stuffed animals on the bed, which he absolutely loved. Those little details make such a difference when travelling with a child.
We also had the opportunity to enjoy dinner at Azure, which was lovely, and the breakfast buffet each morning was top-notch. There was a huge variety of options, everything was well stocked and looked after, and it was a great way to start our days.
The location is also fantastic and within easy reach of so many Toronto attractions, especially Rogers Centre if you’re visiting for a Blue Jays game.
Between the incredible service, beautiful hotel, convenient location and thoughtful touches throughout our stay, the InterContinental Toronto Centre continues to be one of our favourite places to stay in the city. We look forward to coming back again!
We booked our hotel by calling the hotel phone number. We were redirected to the call centre where we booked our room. I asked for a king room with the option to add a pull-out bed for my son. We have stayed at this hotel for a minimum of 30 nights in the past few years and always look forward to our stay. When we checked in, the front desk staff member said that we were booked into a double room. I would never have booked that room as we have only ever stayed in king rooms. The booking representative booked us into the wrong room. In fairness, i should have double checked the confirmation email but have never had any issues in the past. We were told by the front desk manager that they had 2 king suites available (not what we wanted or initially requested when booking with the call centre months ago) but they would have to charge us an additional $500 + tax (even though IHG had made the error). We had to accept that and pay the additional as they left us with no choice. All the manager offered us was 3 ($12 each) drink vouchers at their restaurant for “our inconvenience”. We are completely disgusted with how we were treated and is no where near the hospitality that this hotel usually offers.

I have stayed in many luxury hotels around the world, but this was by far one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had.
I booked two rooms for over $1,000 per night and clearly specified during the reservation that both rooms had to be on the same floor because my children would be staying in one of them. I even received confirmation that this request had been noted and accommodated.
My reservation clearly stated that check-in was at 4:00 PM, with the option to request an early check-in.
We arrived at 12:00 PM and requested an early check-in. The hotel agreed and charged me for it. We were given one room, while we were told that the second room would be ready shortly.
At 2:00 PM, I returned to the front desk and was told the second room would be ready within an hour.
At 4:00 PM, the hotel’s official check-in time, the second room was still unavailable. I was then told that the key would be brought to my room within 20 minutes.
By 4:45 PM, no one had shown up. I had to go back to the front desk yet again just to get the key myself.
Their solution was to refund the early check-in fee, acknowledging that I had not received the service I paid for regarding the second room. They also offered to waive the amenity fee, a charge that had never been disclosed during the booking process.
The worst part, however, was the attitude of the front desk employee.
When I pointed out that my reservation clearly stated a 4:00 PM check-in, he arrogantly replied, “It’s from 4:00 PM, not at 4:00 PM.”
I then asked, “So by your logic, you could give me my room at 10:00 PM?”
His answer was simply: “Yes.”
He then turned his back on me and walked away into the back office without another word.
Delays can happen. I understand that. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication, repeatedly giving inaccurate information, charging guests for a premium service while failing to deliver it as promised, and treating customers with such disrespect.
When you pay over $1,000 per night, you expect professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service. Instead, I spent nearly five hours waiting for a room that should have been available by the guaranteed check-in time, while having to chase the staff multiple times for updates.
This experience fell far below the standards I expected from an InterContinental property. I cannot recommend this hotel, and I will seriously reconsider staying at any InterContinental hotel in the future.

Being an IHG Platinum Ambassador, it is clearly one of the most disappointing Intercontinental Hotel I have ever stayed in my staying at IHG hotels around the globe. Keeping a few front desk staff aside who are very helpful, the room service is horrible. Very less power outlets and literally power extensions are given. There are no signs available for your door to state you do not wish to be disturbed, which is knocked every day early in the morning. We have been staying last 3 days and there were paper cups in the room on the first day (which I didn't expect at an Intercontinental) which have not been replaced even when the room is cleaned everyday. Water bottles are not replaced. We had only 1 mug in the room which was taken away after the first day and never replaced. The tea bags have also not been replaced in the last 3 days. We are still without the English breakfast tea. There is not a single spoon or stirrer in the room to add sugar or stir my coffee or tea. And after this horrible room service, a certain employee named Raymond Mondi after doing a lousy job cleaning our room and replacing nothing, still has the guts to put his tipping card upright against the room TV everyday thinking he will be tipped. I really admire the confidence of such people who do such a terrible job and still think they are worthy of tipping. The Inroom dining ends at 11.00 pm without any Late night Menu. You can't even order an Ice cream after 11.00pm. It has been a very disappointing stay, which I never expected from an Intercontinental!!
We had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Toronto Centre! We chose this hotel because we were in Toronto for a concert, and it turned out to be the perfect location. It's within walking distance of so many attractions, restaurants, and shops, and being so close to Union Station made getting around incredibly convenient.
We arrived early since our flight landed in the morning, and the front desk staff were fantastic. I feel bad that I forgot the name of the lady who helped us because she truly deserves recognition. She was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to answer all our questions and make sure we had everything we needed. Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived.
Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was perfect after a long day of exploring the city, and the bathroom was spotless and well maintained. The hotel itself has great amenities as well. We really enjoyed the quiet indoor pool, the relaxing hot tub, and the sauna. It was the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.
The only small issue we experienced was a slight noise coming from inside the wall in our room on the 23rd floor. It wasn't loud, but it was noticeable at night when everything else was quiet. I ended up leaving the TV on at a very low volume to help drown it out. We mentioned it to the staff, and they immediately apologized and even offered to move us to another room. We appreciated how professionally they handled it, but we politely declined since it wasn't a deal breaker for us.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The outstanding service, comfortable rooms, amazing location, relaxing amenities, and beautiful views far outweighed that one minor issue. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Toronto and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
