I have always loved Tiffany & Co., and most of the jewelry I own is from Tiffany. I visited this location many times over the years.
There used to be a tall and beautiful woman with a slight accent who worked here. She was always kind, friendly, and professional. I have not seen her in a long time, and things have been different since then.
Last summer, I visited this location with my girlfriend. She asked about having her jewelry cleaned and was told that the free cleaning service had ended. We were surprised because free cleaning was always one of the nice benefits of owning Tiffany jewelry.
We were also told that cleaning was now paid and appointment-only. In the past, Tiffany cleaned our jewelry while we browsed the store, or asked us to come back in an hour or two. Because of that, Tiffany was usually our first stop whenever we visited the mall. So this new policy surprised us.
The employee told us that Tiffany now provided cleaning cloths instead and gave one to my friend. When I asked if I could have one too, she gave me an unpleasant look before handing me one.
When I got home, I checked Tiffany's website. According to Tiffany, gold and platinum jewelry can still be cleaned free of charge. Only silver cleaning has become a paid service and may require an appointment.
But my friend wanted to have her gold earrings cleaned, so I was confused about why this was never explained to us.
Maybe I am wrong, but it left me wondering if she assumed we did not own gold or platinum Tiffany jewelry.
I didn't write a review at the time, but after visiting this store again a few days ago with my husband, I decided it was time to share my experience.
Unfortunately, not much had changed. Several employees stood around chatting with each other, and we received very little attention or assistance. We looked at the new collections on our own and left shortly afterward.
This visit reminded me of what happened last summer, so I decided to write this review.
I have always enjoyed Tiffany, but unfortunately my last three visits to this location were not good experiences.
