I bought an item here and later found that it was almost $200 cheaper online. To make matters worse, the store has a no-refund policy! Don’t buy clothes from this store!
This was no help at all. I contacted customer service myself, but they simply told me to contact the store where I made the purchase. No one at the store answers the phone or responds to me.

Zero stars if possible. Very disappointing experience at this franchise location. The sales staff were overly pushy, and the product turned out to be defective/poor quality shortly after purchase. When I tried to resolve the issue, the store hid behind a strict no-return policy instead of offering any real customer service. The policy was not clearly explained upfront, and the overall experience felt very unfair and unprofessional. Being a franchise store should not be an excuse for poor service and refusing to stand behind the products they sell. I would not recommend this location.
I’ve always like Max Mara for its elegant and sophisticated clothing, but my experience at the Max Mara Stanford Shopping Center was extremely disappointing.
As soon as I walked in, multiple associates greeted me in Chinese without asking my language preference. Making assumptions about a customer based on appearance is inappropriate and unprofessional.
The service was also very pushy and uncomfortable. I was followed around the store, repeatedly questioned, and given insincere compliments that felt forced. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt pressured and unable to browse in peace.
This was not the respectful or refined experience I expect from a luxury brand. I left quickly and will not be returning. Management should seriously address staff behavior and improve customer service training.
This had to be the worst shopping experience. The Chinese-speaking sales woman made me feel so uncomfortable.
From the beginning , I was not greeted with the usual “Hi, Welcome”. This sales woman stood a few feet away and made unwanted, unsolicited comments about my outfit in Chinese. It felt really strange as I barely walked in. I was traveling and had never visited this store before . Why was she assuming that I wanted to be spoken to in Chinese? I did not, actually.
She followed me around and without any prompting, she said, in Chinese again, “Everything here is full price”. After that condescending and unprofessional comment, I couldn’t get myself out of there fast enough. I was looking to shop and try on a few things but the vibe was just unpleasant.

I’m sharing my mother’s experience at this store from a couple of weeks ago. She was serviced by a Chinese saleswoman named Michelle, who was extremely rude, pushy and pressured my mom to spend a fortune on a coat that my mother wasn’t pleased with, knowing that my mom wouldn’t be able to return the coat. Luckily, the store manager was kind and understanding and was able to help my mother with the return. Michelle should not be in sales. If you want your business to thrive, please hire someone that actually cares about customer service.
