From the moment I arrived, the hotel made a strong first impression. The building had wonderful curb appeal, and the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth and attentiveness. Everything suggested that I was in for a comfortable, relaxing stay.
Then I entered my room—and the story took an unexpected turn.
The television was on, but the remote refused to change the channels. When I tried connecting to the internet, the signal seemed determined to remain just beyond my reach. Naturally, I reached for the room phone to call the front desk, only to discover that it would not dial out.
At that point, the television, internet, and telephone had formed a quiet alliance against me.
With no other option, I made the journey downstairs to ask for assistance in person. Thankfully, the staff remained helpful and attentive, which kept these inconveniences from overshadowing the entire stay.
The next morning brought a welcome plot twist: the continental breakfast was genuinely good. Even better, the hotel served actual bacon—a small but memorable luxury compared with many similar hotels. Sometimes, a hot breakfast and a plate of bacon can restore a little faith in the entire experience.
Overall, my stay was positive. The property was attractive, the staff was welcoming, and breakfast was better than expected. However, a hotel room should still provide working entertainment, reliable internet, and a functioning telephone. Addressing those basic issues would turn a promising stay into a truly enjoyable one—and spare future guests from taking the same unexpected journey downstairs.
