  This was the worst Best Western experience ever. For more than two months we had a reservation for a King Bed room. We checked in online for our King Bed room. When we arrived, we were told that they do have a King Bed room, but it is upstairs and the elevator is out of order. So our choice was to take the double on the 1st floor, or take the stairs. (This same speech was given to the person checking in before us, and behind us.) This is completely unacceptable because the hotel manager was fully aware during the entire length of our reservation that the king rooms were upstairs and the elevators were out of order during that entire span. It is clear from reading other reviews of this property that the elevators have been out of order for more than two months. In addition, our room was not completely clean, was missing a lightbulb, the bathroom door would not shut, and the swimming pool had been closed by the Illinois Department of Public Health on July 3, 2026, a full 58 days before our check-in. The property website shows a beautiful outdoor pool, with no statement that it has been closed for two summer months. Security is also an issue, as doors from the outside do not require a keycard for entry. We would not recommend.

  First room we got smelled like cigarettes! Thankfully they let us move, but apparently next to a party of workers, BBQ-ing and smoking weed. Doors on the outside do not lock. They just swing open. Breakfast was awful. Elevators are broken. Must go outside to the unlocked doors to walk upstairs.

  I lost power in my apartment and stayed here for a couple of nights, Everyone was very friendly. They put me on the third floor, But the elevator broke, which was not particularly convenient. The room looked nice overall, but could’ve been cleaner. I think they told me the pool is open, but I’ve never seen it such An alarming color in a pool. I only paid like $56 and for that cost it is worth it. I’m not sure I’d pay more than that though.

  We checked in and were told that the pool was down, we asked if it was because of the storm, they said that it was down before that. Both elevators were down, meaning you had to climb 3 sets of stairs(we were on the 3rd floor) . There was hair on the show wall that wasn't ours. One of the rooms we booked (337) didn't even electric lock so anyone could walk in and take our stuff. We left our stuff in the other room we booked. I could go on but I don't wanna write a book.

  Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else I’ve stayed at this property at least 10 times for 1-2 nights in 30 years of travel never have felt less secure in a hotel room. Personal property is at risk of being stolen by staff when you alert front desk of missing items there’s no process or explanation where your property is just excuses. Staffed by a skeleton crew nice people but amenities lacking and when you can’t trust the staff even it’s hard to justify staying here or recommending anyone do the same. This is not a problem at Chateau holiday inn double tree comfort inn there’s much better options in the area that are also safer. Trust when I say don’t book this hotel I’m not a person who cares to make reviews or referrals so there’s a reason I’m doing all this.
