This hotel smells badly of raw sewage, we had two stays booked. One stay at the beginning of a Colorado trip and one at the end. I assumed they had a problem and when we came back it would be resolved. It was actually worse.

The hotel really changed. There isn't a dinosaur person there for the kids anymore. The large chess set outside is gone. The breakfast really changed. It's not as good. The last time there was fresh made oatmeal and bacon. Our room was ok. The toilet didn't flush well. We had to fill up the ice bucket with water and pour in the toilet when we flushed it. The towels were little, and on our last night there, we were only given 2 towels. I had to ask for more. The gentlemen that checked us in was very nice.

I was really excited to stay at this hotel, as it's been on my bucket list for years. I love dinosaurs and the idea of a dinosaur-themed hotel is a dream to me. However, the dinosaur theme is not really present outside of a few areas. The business center and dining room have a few things, and there are dinosaur-themed murals on the outside of the building and in a few places inside. However, the room I stayed in had one little dinosaur throw pillow on each bed and one (1) painting with fossils in them. Not what I was expecting out of a themed hotel. Our room was also not clean when we arrived. There was debris in the sink and the counters and tables looked like they had not been wiped down (I even saw something dried onto one of the counters and avoided using that part of the counter the entire time I was there). The end table between our beds had something dried onto the edges, which came off with a light scrub of a wet paper towel. The mini fridge had debris in the bottom of it as well. The hotel itself had an unpleasant odor. We were provided with a laminated guest directory/info sheet in our room (which was also dirty), and there were multiple inaccuracies on it. The two that were most important to us/we planned to use: (1) it stated that breakfast was 6:30-9:30 am, yet when I came down to breakfast at 9:05 am, I was told it was closed and was pressured to leave; and (2) Paleo Joe's Restaurant and Lounge was listed as being open and available to guests, but Google listed the location as permanently closed. Overall, I was disappointed by how scuzzy the hotel felt, especially given the number of stars they have across multiple websites. I will not be staying here again.

Well if you are in town for a late night show, its convenient. Do you lose money on the promised BW pool and breakfast "included" in the price? Yes. This pool was the worst of them. And what a disappointment because it was hot outside and the theme is definitely for kids with all the dinosaur this and dinosaur that. So telling your kids we aren't going in the pool is not very family vacation friendly. The whole facility was just not cleaned. Our room had hair accumulated behind the bathroom door. The garbage cans at the breakfast room were covered in accumulated dirt. The staff are friendly and look busy, maybe this location is understaffed? I was very sad to not have this location be awesome as the previous ones. Try harder BW!

I arrived at the Best Western Denver Southwest at approximately 2:30am on the morning of Saturday, August 1st 2026. I stopped at this location after 13 hours of driving and was too tired to make the additional 30 minutes of driving to my final destination. Once checked in, we went to the room and found a puddle of water on the floor, and water coming from what looked like the mini fridge dripping onto the shelf it sat on which was dripping onto the floor. We walked back down to the lobby and told the gentleman what happened in that room and also asked if we could be placed downstairs this time, and he let me know there are only king size beds on the first floor and we needed two beds. He then gave me the keys to a new room. As I attempted to go into this room, the inside was locked with a security lock as someone was in the room sleeping. He checked me into someone else's room! I let the gentleman know what happened this time and he looked surprised but did not apologize for any of the inconvenience of taking 2 trips up and 2 trips down the stairs and then said he would go with me to the next room. He walked very quickly ahead of us and miraculously took us to a downstairs room with two beds. He did not offer any assistance as we practically chased him to keep up. He opened the room, looked inside and since all looked well to him I thanked him and he left. This room had strong nicotene odors which caused a severe headache, sore throat and lack of sleep. In the morning, my daughter found a woman's eyelash cluster next to her face on the nightstand next to her . Also issues in this room were the shoe footprints on a pillow, long black hair on the bed, gross furniture and stains on the sheets. At checkout, I did ask for a refund and I was told no as he fixed my problems and I did not tell him at the time I noticed the cigarette smell so he could move us again. Did he really expect us to spend an hour at 3am testing out the different rooms of the hotel where this should have already been done? No way should I have walked in on the two rooms I did, that alone was a reasonable reason for a refund or a discount at the least to be offered, but then be placed in a smoke damaged room which caused sickness and extreme discomfort. It is not my job to test all your rooms for you, it is your job, and it is your job to help rectify a problem that your establishment created in the first place. I also reminded him that some of the cleaning issues were found upon waking up this morning. After being denied any sort of solution, I left and called the number on the customer satisfaction survey that was texted to me and spoke again to the man at the front desk. I got very upset at him blaming me for his hotel's problem and not caring that I just needed to sleep after being on the road for 13 hours, which included hitting a deer in the middle of a windy road (which obviously has nothing to do with the hotel). I hung up and went back into the hotel, apologized for my anger on the phone and spoke with a woman who had only been informed he had to switch our rooms, but not why. She had no idea that I walked in on someone sleeping then tried to cover it with….oh that is probably our new guy. I don’t know or care who it was - the disorganized way that this place is run with a huge apparent lack of communication is appalling. I asked her for the name and number of the manager - she let me know she is not allowed to give either of those, but she would have them call me and she gave me an email. I would also like to add that at the same time I was in your lobby speaking with the woman, an older gentleman was upset that the AC stopped working and he had to sleep in a hot room - he was also told: “you should have told us when it happened.” He also pointed out that it was the middle of the night and he needed to sleep. I explained to the people in the front that as a hospitality business, their goal should be guest comfort and satisfaction.
