The room had an air conditioning that made weird sounds all night even when it wasn't blowing cold air. Talked to several others on the property that were kept up by the AC all night. Property has a lot of deferred maintenance that's being left behind. It's a tired property. Breakfast. It was very simple without options. It was either of chorizo eggs with potato or eggs with potato. So if you want options or you don't want to eat carbs this ain't your place. Usually hotels of this lower caliber at least have better options for breakfast. The location if you want Old Town San Diego is great. Quick and easy to the airport, to the base, and you can walk Old Town from it. I saw that as the only plus.

We have stayed here a few times over the years. Although the location is perfect and the property is beautiful, the hotel has greatly detiorated. Our bathroom needed serious help. Sloppy repairs have left it looking like a bad Motel 6. And due to a repair being done in the hotel kitchen, we waited in line for a 1/2 hour for 1 breakfast taco. Granted it was a Sunday morning and they were very busy, but it was disappointing. We will stay elsewhere next time. They charge premium prices for an inferior experience.
Everything was pretty good here and came to visit one of the kids. The drivers did a great job. Great location and a lot of potential with this place. Our room was dripping water from the overhead heat lamp in the ceiling in the bathroom. Not sure what was causing it but could only imagine. Seemed tolerable until the last night. There was a graduation party that seemed to end fairly early but then there were people up yelling and partying until 4am in the morning. We called around 1:30am to express our concerns. The people went back to being loud and nothing happened. We didnt feel comfortable with confronting the people.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Completely mismanaged. Great employees for the most part but the person we talked to at the front desk again didnt even seem to acknowledge anything. I have stayed at Best Western all over the United States but reconsidering it after this experience. We had to fly back to Idaho to drive to Utah for a funeral with no sleep from the night before.
From the moment I walked through the doors, my experience at the Best Western Hacienda Hotel exceeded every expectation, largely thanks to the genuinely warm and professional staff.
Checking in after a long journey can often feel like a chore, but Jalen at the front desk completely turned that around. He was exceptionally welcoming, efficient, and went out of his way to ensure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. His friendly demeanor set a fantastic tone for the entire trip.
The rest of my stay was just as seamless—the room was clean, quiet, and well-appointed, offering a relaxing space to unwind. When it was time to leave, the departure process was just as effortless. Janie handled my check-out with incredible grace and speed, making the final step of my trip entirely stress-free.
Great hospitality is what turns a good hotel stay into a memorable one, and the team here—especially Jalen and Janie—truly delivers. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
This was easily the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked into the room, there was a very strong, unpleasant smell, and the entire hotel felt dirty and poorly maintained. There was hair all over the blankets !
Unfortunately, the customer service made the experience even worse. A front desk employee named Heidi was extremely rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, our room was still not ready by 4:00 PM. We had been traveling from far away and understandably expected our room to be ready at check-in time. Instead of trying to accommodate us or offer any real assistance, the manager, Michelle, simply told us to continue waiting. When we were finally given the room, her attitude was still extremely unpleasant and unhelpful.
The hotel itself was also very disappointing. The pool is extremely small and has virtually no shade, and depending on where your room is located, you have to walk a considerable distance just to get back and forth. On top of everything, parking costs an additional $30, which feels completely unreasonable given the overall quality of the hotel.
You may have to spend a little more to stay somewhere else, but I strongly recommend doing so. The poor cleanliness, rude staff, lack of customer service, and additional fees are simply not worth the headache.
We definitely would not stay here again, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else.
