  The rooms are appointed nicely, but are extremely musty. Maybe even moldy. The smell is very strong, but the windows, at least on the first floor, open, so I left my window open to try to air the room out. The Wi-Fi only works in the lobby area and the front lounge. About halfway down the hall, it drops to spotty service, and as soon as my phone crossed the threshold of my room, it disconnected entirely. I had to use my data the whole time I was in the room, which runs my battery down twice as fast as if I could have just used their Wi-Fi. It was just super annoying. The pool area is nice, with tables and chairs, and pool towels, so we don't have to use the room towels. A small hot tub. In May, it's still too cold for swimming, though. It's been in the 60s this week.

  Unfortunately, my stay at Best Western Plus Oceanside Palms was disrupted at approximately 6:15 AM by a large refrigerated trailer parked directly outside my room window. The refrigeration unit noise continued for nearly an hour and made it impossible to sleep. I reported the issue to Front Desk Supervisor Agustin Bastida, but the response was disappointing. I was told there was “nothing he could do,” and when I stated I would file a complaint, his response was simply “go ahead.” I understand operational issues can happen, but guest concerns should be handled with more professionalism and empathy.

  This by far has been one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The room while a tad small from what I'm used was remarkably clean and organized. The breakfast had the most variety, I've ever seen. The spread was smartly laid out. The best part of this hotel, is without a doubt, the staff. They were perhaps the nicest people i met in California. From the front desk to the breakfast staff all were kind and helpful. But they're not pushy or intrusive. The lobby is also very cute. The location is ideal for tourist. You can literally get to Mission Ave in a 15 minute walk. The beach is literally a stones throw away. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within close proximity. I came here for a work trip but I can totally see myself coming here for a personal vacation.

  We have been coming here and staying for the last couple of years with my husband‘s company while they work at Pendleton, their professional professionalism is excellent. They are always friendly even if it’s late at night early in the morning. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here you’re a half a mile from the beach. I walk there daily area is very safe to be out and about around cleanliness in the rooms is exceptional. I will give them more stars if I could Carlos and his crew are above and beyond polite.

  I booked a suite at this best western location. For starters the lobby smelled disgusting, mix of incense and old people perfume mixed with cigarettes and marijuana. Absolutely disgusting, I had to hold my breath every time I got off the lobby elevator until I was out the hotel door. My room was extremely out dated, and the “kitchenette” that I payed extra for was nothing more than a refrigerator, microwave and a countertop, no stove top. Not sure if they know the definition of KITCHENETTE but what I saw in my room was not it, complete scam. My room key was constantly malfunctioning, during the week that I stayed here I had to go down to the lobby at least five times to get it fixed. During one of those times, I was discriminated by one of the ladies working the front desks. She gave me a hard time because she couldn’t believe that I had a room there, even though I provided my personal information, ID and card that I used to make the reservation. Not only that but the rep that checked me in was literally sitting next to her and told her that in fact I had a room there. She proceeded to ask me a billion questions including where I worked, and a bunch of other random questions, I was surprised she didn’t ask me for my blood type or what my favorite food was at that point. Eventually, after expressing that she did not believe that I was an anesthesiologist because “I didn’t look like one” (not sure what an anesthesiologist is supposed to look like, I guess next time I’ll make sure to carry my degree with me to show that in fact I’m an anesthesiologist) she reluctantly gave me a new key. This was such an inconvenience not to mention I felt embarrassed because there was a line of people who heard everything and she made it seem like a person like me couldn’t afford to stay there. Funny thing is I’m an anesthesiologist, I was in the area because I was giving a speech at UCLA that week. I have money, lots of it infact, I actually always stay at the Aviara resort in Carlsbad but unfortunately it was fully booked that week. Not sure what about me said I can’t afford a room here, maybe it was the basketball shorts and Hugo boss tshirt I was wearing or perhaps the fact that I’m a Hispanic woman, whatever the case it was wrong and discriminatory. First and last time staying at this hotel. Highly recommend the Aviara Resort in Carlsbad for any one interested in staying in a beautiful, up to date resort with amazing amenities and most importantly superb customer service. The staff at the Aviara resort is fantastic and will not discriminate you.
