  This motel is located at the base of majestic Mount Whitney and many of the people staying here are hiking and camping so the area in the summer is in high demand, especially on a weekend. It was an okay stay but extremely overpriced by comparison. We often stay at Residence Inn but there wasn’t one anywhere near here. Due to the location and time of year, this probably was the best option. Pros: room was very large and clean (choose the larger bedroom if you can…it’s worth it). Staff are very nice, especially at the reception area. Cons: our room had a horrible odor when we checked in. It smelled old, musty and like it hadn’t been aired out in years. When I woke up, we couldn’t wait to get some fresh air. The bathroom is greatly in need of updating. The breakfast was below average. The coffee was very bitter. We used our own bread and there was just canned fruit with the exception of oranges. For over $200 a night, would have expected more.

  As much as I prefer hotels with hallway entries, there is something super convenient about backing up to within a few few of your door! For being an older property our room was nice and we appreciated the friendly service. We usually stay at Best Western Plus locations, but other than this being a motel style, it wasn't far off from some other stays we've had. And it's hard to beat the view from the parking area and the pool!

  My dog Kira and I love this motel. It has a closed in dog area acceable from the back door of your room. What could be better than that? Accommodations are good. Clean room. Quiet. Convenient.

  Great hotel. Clean rooms comfy beds. Easy on and off 395. Has a pool, and assigned parking. Free breakfast that is quick and easy. My only complaint is that there is no covered parking. Maybe should build some solar panels over parking.

  My husband pulled into this motel last night at around 2:30 am and was told the only available room was a wheel chair accessible room which much higher priced than the standard room rate. First of all why would you charge a disabled person more? This doesn't seem right. My husband told the front desk man that he wanted a standard room and didn't feel it was right to charge him $224 for one night when a standard room is around $135. Since that is all they claimed was available he paid it and stayed in the room about 4 hours to sleep. He is aware it was his choice to pay the higher rate. At the time he just could not drive any further. They could have done the right thing considering the time of night and charged the standard rate. The review then would have been much different.
