Absolutely disgusting. Do not stay here.
I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has the reviews it does because our experience was absolutely atrocious. The condition of the rooms was disgusting, the cleanliness was unacceptable, and the customer service did nothing to make up for it.
The first room we were given was filthy. I am uploading photos because this is one of those situations where pictures genuinely speak for themselves. The bathtub was dirty, the shower vent was completely caked in dust and grime, the shower curtain was discolored and stained, and there was red and black mold throughout the shower. There was also mold on the ceiling of the shower. The walls had sticky, discolored buildup that appeared to be oozing or covered in various substances. Every corner of the room looked like it had been neglected and improperly cleaned.
The towels were stained. The bathroom was visibly dirty. The entire room gave the impression that it had not been properly cleaned or maintained in a very long time. I have stayed in plenty of budget hotels and I am not expecting luxury, but there is absolutely no excuse for a hotel room to be this filthy.
Then things somehow got worse.
My friend attempted to take a shower and the temperature knob literally fell off the wall. There was no way to properly control the water, and the only water we could get was scalding hot.
I called the front desk and was told that someone had to personally come to the room and inspect it before we could be moved. The gentleman came up, confirmed that the shower was in fact broken, and moved us to another room.
You would think that after seeing the condition of the first room and moving guests because of a maintenance issue, someone would make sure the replacement room was actually clean and functional before handing over another key.
Nope.
The second room was equally disgusting, as the photos show. The TV did not work in either room. The air conditioning in the second room also did not work.
At that point, I attempted to call the front desk to let them know that the second room wasn’t going to work either. Except I couldn’t call the front desk because the telephone in the room wasn’t even connected to the wall.
I ended up telling the attendant that I couldn’t call him because the phone wasn’t even plugged in and that the air conditioning in the room he had just moved us to wasn’t working.
I understand that it was later in the afternoon and that the attendant working at that time may not have had the ability to personally fix every maintenance issue overnight. That is not what I am upset about. What is unacceptable is handing a guest another room without even checking whether the room is clean and functional after already having to move them out of the first one.
We were essentially handed another key and sent off to another room that had its own problems.
And the cleanliness was so bad that the bottom of my brand new socks turned brown from walking around the room. That should tell you everything you need to know about the condition of the floors.
At this point, I honestly question how the rooms are being inspected and cleaned between guests. The photos I am posting are not minor imperfections or things you have to go looking for. These were immediately noticeable, obvious cleanliness and maintenance problems.
I will never stay at this Best Western again, and after this experience I would be extremely hesitant to stay at another Best Western property. This was not a matter of being picky or expecting a five-star hotel. I expect a hotel room to be clean, sanitary, and functional. This property failed on all three.
If you are considering staying here, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Based on our experience, the condition of the rooms was nowhere near an acceptable standard for a hotel. I would rather pay double the price to stay at one of the six neighboring hotels, they must cost more for a reason. Unacceptable!
