  The hotel itself is beautiful, and initially we were very happy with our stay. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by a serious incident. My friend had 1,000 CHF in her wallet. We were away from the room for about two hours while housekeeping was cleaning. When we returned, we noticed that her wallet had been taken out of her bag and left on the table. Later, while shopping, she discovered that the 1,000 CHF was missing. Considering the circumstances, we could not identify any other place where the money could have disappeared. What was most disappointing was the management’s response. The general manager simply told us that he trusted his staff and suggested we contact the police. There was no apology, no meaningful investigation, and no real attempt to help. A beautiful hotel, but this experience left us extremely disappointed. I strongly recommend keeping all cash and valuables locked in the safe.

  From the moment I arrived, everything was incredibly well organized. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained, and the level of service throughout my stay was outstanding. What impressed me most was the consistency of the service. Every single member of staff — from housekeeping and the team taking care of the property to the concierge and senior management — was attentive, professional, warm, and genuinely service-oriented. You can really feel that there is excellent management behind the scenes. The concierge team deserves a special mention: extremely friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and always one step ahead. Every request was handled smoothly and with great attention to detail. There is a certain elegance and professionalism here that reminded me of the level of hospitality you experience at the Ritz Paris — refined, effortless, and genuinely luxurious without feeling pretentious.

  We checked in at Baur au Lac for our anniversary and could not have wished for a better stay. From the superb pre-arrival communication to the truly royal welcome, we felt recognized and cared for from the very first moment. Being greeted by name and acknowledged for the special occasion was a wonderful touch. The room was spotless, the in-room dining service exceptionally kind and attentive, and breakfast the following morning was simply impeccable. A true gem in Zurich that I can highly recommend for a special occasion or simply an unforgettable stay.

  Wir haben anlässlich meines 60. Geburtstag der am Samstag 8. August während der Streetparade, ein Standard Zimmer ohne Seesicht gebucht. Beim Check in wurden wir darüber informiert, das uns das Baur au Lac wegen meinem runden Geburtstag ein Zimmer-Upgrade spendiert hat. Umso grösser war die Überraschung, das wir eine Junior Suite mit bester Sicht auf See und Parade beziehen duften. Obwohl der Service an diesem Wochenende wegen der Streetparade - mit Ankündigung des Managements - nicht in allen Punkten vollumfänglich gewährleistet werden konnte wie während dem normalen Betrieb, hat es uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Zuvorkommenheit der ganzen Belegschaft (Vom Hotelmanager bis zur Reinigungskraft), war einmalig und des Namens Baur au Lac würdig. Nochmals einen herzlichen Dank für das unerwartete Zimmer-Upgrade und den guten Service. Wir waren zum ersten mal im Baur au Lac und können das Haus bedingungslos weiterempfehlen.   this is a beautiful, stately hotel. It’s really world class. The location is fantastic. Stupid little thing I liked was the ink pens that they provided! They also packed our breakfast for us so we had an early morning flight. That was wonderful. Speaking of their breakfast the breakfast that comes with the room if you choose is beautiful. Is that a beautiful restaurant? Lots of great choices. We were here after a long trip through Europe. But this would be a wonderful place for romantic holiday getaway. One thing to note is none of the rooms have views. That was a little disappointing when Lake was right there. I asked for a view and they said they didn’t have one so just be aware of that. It’s hard to be in Switzerland without a view lol
