  I made an appointment for the first time at this hair salon in June for the following day, in person — being obviously very pregnant at the time. As luck would have it, my waters broke that very night. Despite having contractions every three minutes, I still took the time on my way to the hospital to call the salon, explain my situation, and apologetically cancel my appointment. The staff member I spoke to responded with the tone of a schoolteacher, telling me that next time I cancel, I won’t be allowed to book again — a completely inappropriate and heartless comment given the circumstances I had just described. Needless to say, I will never go there. I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving my money with people who lack even a bit of basic kindness or empathy.
