  Had a terrible experience at this particular Hotel. Booked it because it was the highest rated hotel in the area. I have no idea how this place got 5 stars from anyone. Seriously confusing. Overpriced for the type of experience you're getting. It's a Motel experience wrapped in a Hotel price tag. The room was open when we arrived, and someone had a set of car keys by the coffee machine that we had to return to the front desk. No explanation or reassurance from the staff. Major security risk. Made us feel unsafe. Walls are very thin, could hear basic conversations outside our room from the bed. Mattress was bad, and rooms were dated. There was a stain on the sheets that was forgotten by cleaning staff. Stairwells, elevators, hallways are all dated as well. According to past reviews, the building underwent renovations 6 months ago, but I just don't see it. We arrived early for breakfast and the food was cold and unappetizing, accompanied with paper plates and plastic cutlery. Again, when you pay the hotel price you expect the hotel experience. I could go on, but overall just not a good experience. I expected so much more from Best Western and was completely let down. If I were to ever stay in Brantford again, I would choose literally any other hospitality. What a disaster.

  Staff I met were really friendly. The rooms weren’t too bad. Though found long hairs from I’m assuming came from the cleaning staff in the bathroom. (4-5 hairs). A few dead spiders in the open that weren’t cleaned up. Plus the webs. The beds slightly hard but not too bad. Laundry service was nice to have. Overall it was decent for the two nights I had to spend here.

  We were visiting friends in Brantford and chose this location because it was closest. Now we see why it is rated as a 2 star hotel. First, the TV would not turn on. Called for a tech to check it and it was dead batteries in the remote. The remote for the TV was quite sketchy. You had to press each button in a specific spot or the TV would not resond. The TV was very slow to respond to inputs from the remote. The bathroom is very small. The door when opend barely misses the toilet. There is only room for one in the bathroom. Water pressure was quite weak. There was a constant drip...drip...drip form the tub spout. Luckily it was barely detectable in the room. The clock: the time display was clearly ledgible but the other text was extremely small. The time was off by 12 hours (good thing my wife set an alarm on her phone). There were no printed instructions for the TV or how to set the clock. There was no note paper or a pen. The beds were OK, comfy. We only stayed the one night so we never checked out the other amenities. Breakfast is only served until 9am. In my opinion the room rate is excessive give the condition of the room. If you are only looking for somewhere to sleep at night this may be what you are looking for, but don't expect anything special.

  We spent the weekend at the Best Western with our U13 team while in town for the Jess Bates Tournament, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotel was full of teams from all over, so there was plenty of excitement, energetic kids, and parents enjoying the weekend too. Through it all, the staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, patient, and always helpful. They handled the busy atmosphere so well and made everyone feel welcome. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the perfect place for a team stay. We’ll definitely be booking here again for future tournaments. Highly recommend!

  I want to prefix this review by saying that ALL of the employees we encountered were polite, friendly and welcoming - no complaints on the service. However, we paid US$230 per room for one night, which for this hotel, in this location, is way too much (and they quoted over $400 per room when we enquired on arrival about extending to a second night). The bed was okay, but the carpet did not feel good underfoot, and the decor looked like a senior's bungalow c.1980. The aircon was a noisy old machine. This is a (m)hotel in need of a refurb. Already resentful of the room rate the final straw was breakfast, which if not "included" in the price I would have been demanding a refund. Five cooked items, left under a hot lamp for way too long: pancakes, hardened fries, dry sausage patties, baked beans (I think, I'm not sure), and scrambled eggs that had formed a skin and were rubbery and tasteless. The alternative was some rather tired looking fruit. The coffee was okay. We left and had breakfast elsewhere. So, as I said, the staff were lovely, the management need to get their act together. Head office, now you know.
