We had a great experience here! Booked a family room for a weekend away with my husband, kids and my mom.
The suite was a great size, clean and comfortable. Getting extra coffee and towels was easy. Staff was SO friendly, I have never met more engaged and friendly housekeepers. My family enjoyed the pool and water slides and the location was perfect for access to WEM and the Telus World of Science.
My daughter left an item in the room and housekeeping had photographed and kept record and we were able to retrieve her lost stuffy so thank you! She had that since birth.
Highly recommend and will return if I need to stay in the North again.
This hotel was recommended by the royal alexandra hospital as I had a surgery booked there for the 11th so I booked a room for my father the night of the 10th and 11th as he was going to have to drive me home afterwards. I received a call from the hospital an hour after I got into the city but not checked in yet at around 4pm on the 10th that my surgery was canceled for the 11th and moved to august. I called the hotel hoping there was something they could do, a partial cancellation for the night of the 11th or even rebook for the date in august but nope, nothing. Charged the full amount for a room I wasn’t going to use. They could have easily put the room back up for availability for the 11th but nope, charged for both nights. Won’t be booking with them when I go in august and will be passing on to the hospital how the hotel they recommend to their patients completely refuses to work with them when something like this happens.

I am deeply disappointed and shocked by the complete lack of empathy shown by the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn in Edmonton during a family crisis.
Due to an honest mistake, I accidentally booked the wrong date for a 1-night stay. When I realized the error, I contacted the hotel to fix it. I wasn't asking for a freebie—in fact, I offered to book a 2-night stay to replace the mistaken night. I had just stayed there two nights ago.
To make matters worse, my husband is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Between dealing with a medical emergency and trying to correct a simple booking error, the last thing I expected was rigid corporate greed. Despite the circumstances, the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn the Edmonton, completely refused to waive the cancellation fee for the accidental night.
Where has basic human decency gone? Keeping a customer’s money under these conditions—while turning down more business—is incredibly short-sighted and cruel.
Please think twice before booking with the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn in Edmonton. They care far more about a cancellation fee than they do about their customers
*replying to best westerns reply below-— I called the property they said it was against their policy to change a no refundable reservation. I talked to Expedia and they were willing to change it on their end but said it was Best Western that wouldn’t do it. I didn’t want a refund I wanted to book the two 2 nights that I needed instead of the one I booked by accident. I even offered to upgrade my room. I wanted to stay at that location because it was close to the hospital where I need to be.
I can see they are understaffed and the girl at the front was trying to answer calls and check guests in, I give 5 stars because she is friendly and is doing her best, the layout of the hotel is very spread out not like a normal high rise hotel but its nice because the lady gives you a map and tells you the best way to access your room and you can just drive right to the door, the rooms are nice and clean I have no complaints except the long walk to get ice, first world problems.

On the evening of May 15, I spoke with Front Desk staff member Adeeb over the phone to request an extension of our stay for at least 3 to 5 more days for the three rooms we booked (Rooms 251, 252, and 253). Unfortunately, he only granted a one-day extension for two rooms and did not provide a clear explanation for everything and kept stating “just talk to my manager”. During the conversation, he repeatedly interrupted me while I was speaking.
The following morning, May 16, he provided different information and stated that two out of the three rooms could actually be extended for more than one day, which contradicted what he told me the night before.
During our conversation at the front desk, he interrupted me again and attempted to assist another guest even though I was still actively speaking with him. Thankfully, the other guest redirected Abdeed back to my concerns.
I found Adeeb to be rude, unfriendly, dismissive of guest needs, difficult to communicate with, and uncertain about the information he was providing. The experience was frustrating and unprofessional.
I believe management should address this matter to ensure better customer service moving forward.
