I love that there was ample parking and so much to do close by yet the place felt so quiet and safe
This hotel is close to many amenities, its in a safe location, has a huge parking lot that can fit a truck and trailer, and it is quiet and very clean. The restaurant on site is Barringtons and it is exceptional with delicious food and we had incredible service from Stephanie. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I had a delicious steak dinner fir $28. The rooms are impeccably clean and well taken care of. I stayed three nights and Liudmyla M on the 6th floor cleaned our room and was unbelievably fast, thorough, and friendly. There was a small problem on our room where the heat seemed to be on even though I wanted the room cooler and the thermostat didn't work fantastic but it was manageable. I love that I had the option of opening the window and getting fresh air. There is ample parking which I appreciate and the staff are simply exceptional. Luiza, Shardhra, Basrala, Abigail, Liudmyla, Jay, and onsite server Stephanie made this trip fabulous with their above and beyond dedication. The lobby is bright and beautiful, there is lots of sitting room and the complimentary water is a bonus.

We stayed here for a hockey tournament recently and unfortunately did not have a great experience. We booked with a block for our hockey team and unfortunately we were placed on the 3rd floor while the rest of our team was placed on the 11th and 12th floor. When I called the front desk to address this I was told the hotel was full and there was nothing they could do about our room being separate from our team. On top of this I had called a week prior to request and confirm that our room would be near the rest of our team and was assured we would be on the same floor. I had a disappointed 10 year old son.
We also got back to our room on Saturday and housekeeping had not come by, we had full garbage cans and no toilet paper, I found out from a few others staying at the hotel that their rooms had been cleaned up while we were gone.
The pool had been way over chlorinated as well to the point we had to all leave due both kids and parents complaining of their eyes burning and very red and irritated.
Very disappointed in our stay and feel the amount we paid for 2 nights was not worth it. We will not be back.

There was no problem with the room, it was nice.
Our hockey team booked a block of rooms for a spring tournament. When I was checking in, I specifically ask if some of our team was on the same floor as us. The manager said everyone was not on the same floor. But some of our team was on my floor.
Once in our room, I found out none of my daughter’s team were on our floor. There was however a full U11 team on our floor.
When I asked the clerk why he lied to me about having some of our team on the same floor. He regurgitated a very insincere apology, over and over again.Unfortunately he apparently was also the manager. He said there was no way for him to see which teams were on each floor. Yet he told me a different story when I checked in.
Avoid checking in with the manager, I give him 0 stars!

Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre
Just off 36 Street NE and visible from the Trans-Canada Highway thanks to its 12-storey height, I've stayed here many times over the years on business trips to Calgary. The combination of reasonable rates, free parking, and being only minutes from downtown makes it an easy choice.
I stayed here again this past week while a small conference was being held on site. Although the meeting room we used wasn't overly large, I know the property has rooms of all sizes. What I really liked about ours was its location adjacent to the courtyard, along with a separate hallway on the opposite side that offered a quiet place to sit and chat between sessions. It was very thoughtfully laid out.
The hotel itself remains exceptionally clean and the staff have always been great to deal with. The property was completely full during my stay, likely helped by a large volleyball tournament taking place in Calgary. There were young athletes everywhere, and I overheard the front desk mentioning that the hotel was sold out.
One thing I noticed this visit was that Horizons, the former dining room, is no longer there. That's not necessarily a negative given the amount of dining competition nearby. The bar handles both food and drinks well enough, although it has a bit more of a cafeteria feel than a traditional lounge. Perhaps that's something that could be refined over time.
I should also mention the gym, which is better than many hotel fitness rooms I've seen. There's also a pool, although I didn't have a chance to use it this trip.
Also of note; all access points are from the south and the east. If you really know what you’re doing you’ll turn off from Memorial Dr when coming from downtown well ahead of the 36th Street N turnoff. There’s also an access point directly south of the facility in what appears to be the car dealership engine. Look for the hotel sign.
In summary, I’ve stayed here many times and will stay here again. For the price point, the amenities, cleanliness, location, and free parking make this property easy to recommend.
Absolutely unacceptable experience at Premier Best Western Plaza Hotel in Calgary.
My child was randomly browsing movies on the hotel TV, and the system allowed paid movie charges immediately without ANY parental warning, confirmation, password, or authorization process. A child could simply click and instantly generate charges to the room. This is completely irresponsible and unacceptable for a family hotel.
What is even worse is that during check-in, the staff never informed us that the TV system could automatically charge paid content so easily. There were no warnings, no explanations, and no protection for families traveling with children.
This feels extremely deceptive and dishonest. Hotels should have proper safeguards and clear notifications before allowing any paid content purchases, especially when children are involved.
I strongly advise families to avoid staying at this hotel. Choosing another hotel would be the smartest decision.

May 29——Update:
The fact is that this already happened, and it happened without the parents being aware — and that is exactly the problem.
When children are watching pay-per-view movies in a hotel room, there should be restrictions in place. Parental approval should be required before any purchase can be made. Do you really expect a 5- or 6-year-old child to be able to distinguish whether something is chargeable or not?
In addition, you mentioned that some charges were removed for movies that were only watched for a short period of time, but I have not received any receipt or notification regarding this.
At check-out, I was told that an email would be sent to me explaining the full process and breakdown of what happened, but I still have not received any complete explanation or follow-up email.
