  I stayed at this hotel for my birthday from August 21–23, and unfortunately, what was supposed to be a nice birthday weekend turned into a very upsetting experience. During my stay, I suffered numerous bed bug bites and ultimately had to seek medical treatment at the hospital. The bites were severe enough that I was unable to work and experienced significant physical discomfort. I made multiple attempts to contact hotel management to report what happened and seek assistance. Each time, I was told that management was unavailable. I also sent emails regarding the situation and, as of now, have still not received a meaningful response or resolution. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled. This hotel used to be a place I felt comfortable staying at, which makes this experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and customer service after such a serious incident has been unacceptable. I normally do not leave negative reviews, but after being severely bitten, requiring medical treatment, missing work, and receiving virtually no assistance from the hotel, I feel that other potential guests deserve to know about my experience. I sincerely hope management takes this matter seriously and takes the appropriate steps to investigate and address the issue.

  My husband and I spent 3 days at this location for our wedding anniversary. We spent $330 per night for a top level ocean view. Although we enjoyed our time together, we were highly disappointed in the Cleaning Room Service who did not change our bedding one time while we were there. We spent long hours on the beach getting sun and sweated excessively through the nights due to the same. It's disheartening to know that the establishment made $1,000 from our stay and never once considered cleanliness or our hygienic needs. This is not something that should be asked for, it should be a given.

  We have been visiting this hotel for over 10 years and we truly love it. Unfortunately, our last stay on the second floor was very disturbing because the pool music and songs were left playing loudly all night and were never turned off, which kept us from sleeping at all. I hope management pays attention to this issue because it heavily affected our comfort, despite our great love and loyalty to the place."

  4.5 stars because they don't recycle. The hotel was great, but the hardworking staff were the stars of the show. Yeimmi at the front desk was a delight. She had a warm, friendly countenance and cheerfully saw to it all our requests were met, even secretly helping get a custom cake delivered to our room for a birthday surprise! Rodney was a friendly presence at the breakfast buffet, always diligently working to ensure all the food items stayed stocked, the dining room stayed clean, and everyone got fed. Rooms: great Gym: enough cardio machines and enough dumbbells to get a workout Breakfast: very enjoyable, kept a decent rotation of items, so a multi-day stay will have some variety Location: on the beach, couldn't be better. The several-mile distance to the more crowded and kitschy downtown is a plus

  Extremely Disappointed — I Feel Like Money Was Taken From Me to Cover Someone Else’s Problem I am extremely disappointed with how the Holiday Inn Express in Daytona Beach has handled this situation. At this point, I genuinely feel like money was taken from me to resolve an issue that was never mine to begin with. I stayed at this hotel from January 17–20 with my family. I booked my individual room using an Athletics group code because I believed it simply provided a discounted room rate. I was not an organizer, coach, team representative, or person responsible for the Athletics’ group contract or group bill. I paid approximately $580 for my own room at the time of my stay. Then, approximately three months after I had already checked out and paid for my stay, additional charges were placed on my credit card that I did not authorize and do not believe I was responsible for. If these charges were legitimately mine, why weren’t they charged to me while I was actually at the hotel? Why weren’t they included when I paid for my room? Why did they suddenly appear three months after I left? It feels like the hotel had an unresolved financial issue involving the group and decided to take money from my card to help cover it. From my perspective, that feels like stealing from a customer to resolve the hotel’s own problem. I have repeatedly asked for documentation showing where I personally authorized these charges or agreed to be financially responsible for the group’s contract, and I still have not received anything that satisfactorily proves that. I have emailed management repeatedly trying to resolve this professionally. Meanwhile, I have been forced to dispute these charges with my credit card company and carry a balance that continues accumulating interest. I am not asking for anything unreasonable. Show me where I personally agreed to these charges, or return my money. Customers should not have to spend months fighting charges placed on their credit card long after they checked out. I will gladly update this review if management finally takes responsibility and resolves this matter appropriately.
