The workers in the store our seriously under trained and have no clue on how to assist you with anything. They tell you what you want to hear and they put it in to be fixed and push you out the door. They always tell you to call billing because they can't do anything. Charge you for things already paid for. Cox/spectrum are a terrible company and scammers.

The Topeka store on Wanamaker, when you walk in, all the guys refuse to give service to pretty girls because an insecure girl works there. They cater to her insecurities for their sexual gain. The girl just glares at me, and the men refuse to give me any customer service. Several men just standing there, doing NOTHING, (purposely ignoring me, while she insecurely stands guard.) I barely get a response when I approach and ask for help. If they reluctantly do help, she FOLLOWS US AROUND making sure they give me minimal service. The men act accordingly. Insecure women exert sexual control in the work force this way. Its very unprofessional. And Its very ridiculous. (This happens EVERY TIME I come in and to a few of my friends as well.) I wish their district manager knew how unprofessional they are at this store. Its awful attitudes and awful customer service.

Someone from Cox Wichita showed up at our house this past Wednesday indicating he was making some final checks to move our service from the latest temp. Line to the permanent line.. the next thing I know, our internet service is completely off line.. we called and the soonest they could take care of us was Friday.. young man showed up Friday morning and said he could not fix it.. it would take someone else to look at the main line.. it’s so disappointing… time to go to Ideatek!

Consider this a WARNING to anyone using Cox Communications or living near recent utility work by IdeaTek and AT&T: protect your property and audit your bills! Ever since multiple contractors began digging lines in April, it has been total chaos
SAFETY HAZARDS: They/IdeaTek dug a grave-sized pit in our back yard and left it wide open with zero safety netting for a month. It got so bad that the City Engineer had to step in and order them to fix it immediately. The netting was put up within hours, however it Took 3-4 more weeks to fill the hole, sort of!! When they finally came to fill it, they didn't leave enough dirt to account for settling, leaving us with a sinking yard.
SERVICE DISRUPTIONS: Unburied lines and shoddy contractor work leave us with 6–7 full service drops every single month. Working from home makes this a constant THREAT to our livelihood.
OVER CHARGING, PLAN TRICKERY, BAIT & SWITCH: We were paying $190/month for 1G Unlimited. (INSANE) When we called stating we might change providers because of the constant issues and high price, phone support (Who sounded like a text to speech robot and never once got my husbands name right after being corrected every time he said it, claimed they'd lower it to $115/mo for 2G, GREAT! and it would go into effect that next cycle which was the coming Friday, except they secretly removed our Unlimited Data, (didn't tell us)which would have cost us hundreds in overage fees! Had we not gone into local office when we did we could be out a LOT of money due to their negligence. However then we were told we cant have it at $115 now its $145 to put unlimited back on!!! BAIT AND SWITCH at its FINEST!!!
Ghosted by Local Support: We went to the Topeka store to fix again down internet on July 16. The representative, Brett Britton, promised he’d take care of it and be our direct contact after he confirmed the last rep messed up. I even questioned if they would answer at the store phone, oh yea...LIES Of course they go the route of blaming equipment and even though we told HIM over and over thats not the issue and told him my husband was in IT he continued to do the same stuff they teach them...NOTHING just enough to get you out the door thinking they did something. I called him that exact same afternoon less than 2 hours after getting home with still the same issues we started with and no answer, no return calls, and complete silence for over a week now. (THE ISSUE was AT&T cut the line, we found out the next day ourselves and with the Cox Field Tech who came out the following day) Meanwhile, our internet was down again and loss of work, again! Maybe they should start being responsible for LOST WAGES TOO when ppl are forced to take PTO just to save grace on their behalf!!
After 17 years, all Cox offered for months of physical property damage, safety hazards, deceptive plan changes, and constant outages was maybe a very small credit, likely just to shut you up. Under $25.
Check your bills, audit your data plans, and keep an eye on your property if their contractors are in your neighborhood! They had us paying $190 for half the speed that the
45 service would of provided. I don't even know how long we have been over paying because when I asked Brett he didn't answer the question and changed the subject.
Once again, our internet went down because AT&T’s contractors cut Cox’s lines. Rather than taking accountability for shoddy work, the contractors just blame everyone else and Cox’s complete lack of effort to resolve the situation only makes a bad image ten times worse.
We will see how long this exposed line takes to be buried and the damage they leave again in our yard!! FED UP NO ACCOUNTABILITY about to send letter to FFC because ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
