  Extremely Poor Customer Service & Bike Repair My experience with the REI Tysons bike shop has been extremely disappointing. I brought my bike in because the chain was repeatedly dropping. After three weeks, three separate visits, and more than $600 spent on repairs—including replacing the cassette—the bike still was not properly repaired. At this point, the problem is no longer just the repair itself. It is the complete lack of ownership and accountability. I gave the bike shop multiple opportunities to diagnose and resolve the issue. Instead, I ended up repeatedly bringing the bike back, losing weeks of my time, spending over $600, and still not having a properly functioning bike. What was most unacceptable, however, was the way I was treated when I called to address the unresolved problem. The mechanic I spoke with was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Rather than taking ownership of the situation and trying to find a solution, the conversation left me feeling as though I was the problem for simply asking why my bike had still not been properly repaired. Things can go wrong with repairs. Mistakes happen. Complex mechanical problems happen. What matters is how a business takes responsibility when something goes wrong. In this case, I saw very little ownership, accountability, or professional customer service. Three weeks, three visits, and more than $600 later, I am still dealing with the original problem. I chose REI because I expected knowledgeable mechanics, professional service, and a company that would stand behind its work. Unfortunately, my experience at the Tysons location was the complete opposite. I would strongly encourage management to review how this repair was handled and, more importantly, how customers are being spoken to when they raise legitimate concerns. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the REI Tysons bike service department.

  Came in looking for some new hiking shoes. So much to see in all of the REIs. Always great friendly staff and service. Love all the REI stores. I’ve been to most of them i. The general area. Each location is slightly different but carries mostly the same brands.

  Exceptional service it's First time here ever I brought my trek madone here because I went to two other REI locations and they were busy and not taking more bikes so I came here and they helped me on the spot! The guys at the bicycle shop are awesome and the female attendant that helped me first is very efficient and fast to help you. I got the bike back today they finished several days earlier thant he actual date they had given me they got it running like new and cleaned it up and got it all pristine looking they ho way above and beyond I really really enjoyed my experience here thank you guys very much!
