  Shout out to Izabel for helping me with a full shoe wardrobe makeover for my poor troubled feet. I was able to find shoes for hiking, running, and recovery.

  REI is a very good outdoor store—well organized, well managed, and with a great selection of quality products. It's not as large as Dick's Sporting Goods, but it generally carries better-quality gear, although at higher prices. I gave 3 stars because of the customer service. I visited on a Sunday evening just before closing. The associate brought me the wrong color after I waited about 10 minutes, leaving no time to exchange it before the store closed. At checkout, the cashier simply folded a medium-sized jacket and handed it to my wife without even asking if we wanted a bag. I understand it was 5 minutes before closing and the staff was probably tired after working on a Sunday, and working on a Sunday evening isn't enjoyable for many people. Still, I expected a higher level of customer service from REI. This is the kind of experience I might expect from a discount outdoor store, but I expected better service from REI.

  I’ve probably spent a good fortune here but the salesperson working the shoe area on 7/26 was really short with me for no reason whatsoever. I was just indicating another gentleman might have been there before me and should get their attention next and I get a “well you’re right in the middle of my doorway (was not) so I either need to help you or get you to scooch.” I wouldn’t call it overly rude, there was just a better way to handle it. I was just trying to be considerate. I left, no hiking boots for me today
