Played yesterday, greens were in the worst condition I have ever seen any course in my lifetime. Not being hyperbolic, describing exactly what I saw. To pay well over $200 , with friends who came in from out of town , and to have had that poor of a showing was embarrassing. Not one staff member said a thing to us at any point until the gentlemen cleaning off the clubs at the end of our round said “yeah they verti-cut them or something for some reason”. Unprofessional that you wouldn’t advertise course maintenance of that magnitude on the front end of our check in and offer some sort of discount or a courtesy heads up at a minimum. We also played Arthur hill’s that morning and those greens looked like a bomb went off just about every hole. Palmetto dunes rates on all the three courses have skyrocketed astronomically in the 15 years I have been down here and what you get in return has done the inverse. Absolute nose dive in terms of quality at all three locations. Do yourself a favor and play somewhere else. Dolphin head and oyster reef were in 50 times better shape than these PD courses. That says everything you need to know.

Paid nearly $200 a round expecting a premium experience. Got something I’d compare to a $30 public muni back home in Florida. Before booking, I called and asked about course conditions. Was told it was pristine. It was not. Greens were slow and thick, completely unreadable speed-wise and clearly under-maintained. Tee boxes were mostly sand. Not patches. Sand. At a Robert Trent Jones property charging premium rates. We came up as a group for a boys trip, the kind of trip you plan around a bucket list course. Instead we played in some of the worst conditions I’ve ever seen on any course at any price point. The worst part wasn’t even the course. It was the response. When we flagged conditions before the trip, they swore it was perfect. When we got there and told them it was a disaster, the answer was basically “sorry you didn’t like it.” No accountability, no comp, no acknowledgment that the product didn’t match what was sold. If you’re charging Robert Trent Jones prices, deliver a Robert Trent Jones product. Or at the very least, be honest with paying customers about what they’re walking into. Save your money and play anywhere else!

We came in excited to play Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course based on its reputation as part of a premier golf resort, and while the staff and overall service were excellent, the actual course conditions were very disappointing for the price we paid. The employees were friendly, professional, and made the experience smooth from check-in through the round. Unfortunately, the course itself did not live up to expectations at all. The greens were surprisingly slow — honestly slower than many local municipal courses back home in the greater Orlando area — and the tee boxes were in rough shape, with what felt like 80% sand and very little actual grass coverage. For a course with this reputation and price point, we expected much better conditioning. The layout and scenery are still enjoyable, but based purely on current conditions, it did not feel worth the premium cost.

I wanna start by saying thank you all so much. I was met by Kevin and Bob to secure my bag straight from the car. They brought it around no hassle. I didn’t even have to lift a finger which was amazing. I got into the pro shop, got some awesome keepsakes paid for my round and went down and met Ron. I want to take a moment, especially for him. He was beyond amazing. It was my 26th birthday as well as my wife’s and honeymoon. He gave us a little extra space which meant the world to me not only allow allowing us to take in the breathtaking views, but as well to have some quality time with my wife out on the course! Before we got started, we went and saw Amy, who hooked us up with our drinks, brought them directly to the cart ice and everything! The course itself was in immaculate condition. Bathroom stops halfway house well taken care of as well as. Clearly marked signs no confusion getting around! If you’re thinking about swinging by do yourself a favor and book a teatime immediately! I will be coming back every single time I visit the island! Thank you so much for the staff at Robert Trent Jones. They made an experience of a lifetime!

EDIT 4/29/2026: After my original review, the team reached out to us very quickly and went above and beyond to make things right. They were genuinely apologetic about our experience, especially given how important the weekend was for us (engagement weekend), and made it clear they truly care about their guests. They offered to do whatever they could to make up for it, including inviting us back for a full 5-star experience. Since we’re not local, we weren’t able to take them up on that—but they still issued us a full refund without hesitation, which we really appreciated. While our initial visit didn’t meet expectations, their response absolutely did. It says a lot about their character and commitment to customer service. We’re grateful for how seriously they took our feedback, were going to share with their staff, and how gracious they were in resolving the situation. ORIGINAL REVIEW For the price, this was one of the most disappointing golf experiences I’ve ever had. My fiancé and I paid $520 for 18 holes expecting a premium, relaxing round, but the experience fell short from the start. We found out when we got there that the driving range at the course was closed, and we were told to drive about five minutes to their sister course just to warm up. By the time we got there and back, we only had enough time to hit about 10 balls before our tee time—hardly enough to get loose. We didn’t even get a chance to hit any woods. What’s especially frustrating is that we made this reservation months in advance, and the course had apparently known for some time that the range would be closed. That kind of last-minute communication doesn’t give guests a fair opportunity to plan ahead or adjust, especially when paying for a premium experience. The check-in experience didn’t help either. The staff member in the pro shop was rude and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for what was supposed to be a special day. When we got to the bag drop area, there were no staff members available to assist. I ended up unloading and handling the bags myself despite having a bad back, which is not what you expect at a course charging these kinds of prices. Because we didn’t have time to properly warm up, we started the round already feeling rushed and out of rhythm. Unfortunately, that feeling never went away. Course rangers were constantly on us—every couple of holes—telling us we were behind pace and needed to hurry up. It made the entire round stressful instead of enjoyable. At one point, we couldn’t even take a moment to appreciate the ocean view on the 10th hole because we felt watched and pressured to keep moving. For a course that markets itself as a premium resort experience, this felt anything but. Between the lack of basic amenities, poor service, and constant pressure, it’s hard to justify the price. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for a relaxed and enjoyable round. We would appreciate it if a manager could reach out to us directly to address these concerns.
