  Playing 100+ rounds a year at courses of varying levels of quality gives me some good perspective on layouts and conditions. I play a lot of tournament stroke play events, so I see 30-40 different courses each year. Again, adding to my ability to evaluate courses. I've played several Fazio designs over the years and they've all been great tracks. This one is no different in regards to the layout. However, when greens are as slow as these it completely detracts from the experience and makes it hard to enjoy the round. These greens were literally HALF the speed of the slowest greens I've played all year. On a stimpmeter, these greens roll at roughly a 5. For comparison, the average (slow) public course greens roll at 8-9. Higher quality private courses run at 9-11. For a 10' flat putt to get to the hole, you had to hit it the equivalent of a 20-25' putt. They're literally THAT slow. Our group agreed to automatic 2-putts once on the green, just to lower the level of frustration. Totally ruined a potentially good experience. Oh, and when we asked in the proshop if they'd be faster for our upcoming tourney on the same course, they said they would be exactly the same. Terrible...do better Palmetto Dunes!!!

  Probably the easiest ( and the shortest) of the Palmetto courses, water gets in the play only on few holes and it is avoidable. But very playable round with wide fairways and relatively large greens, it is designed to have fun. As other resort courses, while there are houses and condos around they are shielded by vegetation and not obtrusive.

  Had a great lesson with George Spinella this week. Never had a real pre-shot routine before - he built me a simple one: set up behind the ball, set my grip with the club horz aligning bottom groove straight up, pick a target a foot ahead, find my distance to the ball during setup feet together. Finish setup, relaxed grip, exhale, swing. Already feels more consistent. He also fixed something I've fought for years: shallowing my hands. The wrist hinge at the top has stopped me from casting the club and gotten me way more compression. It's also putting me in the right slot to clear my hips and get my right shoulder over. Before, I was taking it back too shallow, which left me stuck and forced me to steepen on the way down. Highly recommend George if you want to clean up your fundamentals and actually understand the "why" behind the changes.

  Course was in great shape but the greens were very very slow.the course is overpriced at$200 and we were one of the 4 cars in the parking lot at 8:15 in the morning.if it was closer to $125 I bet the place would be packed and they would make more money

  I took several golf lessons with Jason, and he completely changed the way I see the game. I had played golf a few times before, but never with an instructor, and honestly, I used to find it a little boring. Jason made me fall in love with golf. The way he explains everything is incredible - clear, engaging, and easy to understand. He clearly has a true gift for teaching. I will definitely be coming back for more lessons. Thank you, Jason!
