Booked an hour of golf lessons with Edward Sires this past Saturday with my sisters. He gave clear instructions and helpful tips for us on how to hold the clubs, proper body alignment, and what to expect when holding the clubs a certain way. If you are just getting started with golf, I highly recommend staying off with lessons from Edward to help build knowledge and confidence before getting out on the course.
For $220 , the greens were atrocious. Every hole had damage. I’ve never seen anything like it. Would have been upset if I paid $80 to play this course. Had similar issue at RTJ. Brought guests down for a men’s golf trip and every course we played in Palmetto Dunes was not only underwhelming, but extremely disappointing. It was insulting for a golf destination HHI to put a product out like that.

As a beginner, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but Doug has a gift for breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations. We saw immediate results in our game thanks to his clear instruction.
What sets Doug apart is how he tailored the lessons to our specific personality types. He quickly identified how our individual traits could help or hinder our play and gave us practical tips to manage them on the course.
Beyond the technical side, Doug’s easy-going nature and great personality made every session genuinely enjoyable. He uses clever rhymes, stories, and anecdotes to make his tips stick, which kept things light and memorable.
We highly recommend Doug to anyone looking to improve their game in a fun, effective way

RTJ gets all the hype but the Hills course is, for my money, the best of the 3 PD courses. Fazio is wide open and fun, but there's not a flat lie on the Hills and lots of dog legs so you really need to think your way thru the course. The conditions are always good and the staff is polite and professional. Definitely add this course to your next trip
I came to Hilton Head for a week with my family in April and was looking forward to several rounds of golf with family and friends. After a few months away from the game (a New England winter will do that to you), I hit the driving range at Arthur Hills and quickly realized my swing had completely fallen apart.
I booked a “tune up” lesson with Edward for the next morning, and it was one of the best decisions of the trip. He immediately identified one thing that had gone sideways: my lead arm was flying out in a classic “chicken wing” follow-through and gave me one of those tips that’s so simple it almost feels too easy. He had me tuck the logo of my golf shirt under my armpit and focus on keeping it tucked all the way through my follow-through. That one adjustment straightened out my shots and dramatically improved my contact.
He focused on a handful of specific, actionable changes. Nothing overwhelming, just the right things to work on. By the end of the lesson, I walked away confident heading into the rest of the week.
Edward has a calm, clear teaching style that’s perfect for someone who just needs to get back on track quickly. If you’re visiting Palmetto Dunes and your game needs a reset, I’d strongly recommend booking time with him. Worth every penny.
