  Well stocked, zero personality, took forever to check out, no I don't want your membership. I dropped by today to buy my third pair of Merrell Moabs from this location. I go to this REI because unlike other stores in the area, they have well stocked during previous visits. The salesperson I interacted with today must have left her personality at home. While she was knowledgeable and efficient, her expression and interaction was flat and emotionless, dare I say, robotic. I was given the sales pitch for their membership before leaving the shoe department. There were two people ahead of me at the register. There was a lengthy delay as the cashier made her pitch to purchase their membership. I told her no thank you, the person in the shoe department had already explained the membership and I wasn't interested. The cashier continued her attempts to sell me on the membership. I declined, twice. One of the customers ahead of me agreed to buy the membership. The sign-up process caused quite a delay while they conveyed the information needed to sign up. With only one register open, this was not an ideal process for the customers standing in line. Corporate profit over customer satisfaction. I realize that is the norm today but this experience exemplified that philosophy.

  I had to return something and the staff was just as helpful as when I'm purchasing something.

  REI has a good selection of products. Employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. I recently there to get my son sized for a picking backpack. The guy that helped us got him sized and ran through the brand selections, features, and what he liked or disliked about each. It was super helpful and really helped us in getting closer to narrowing down what we'll get!

  Love REI. Staff are always friendly and willing to help. They have all your basic needs but wish they had some small (garage) brands for backpacking.
