  This store has expensive things of all good quality, but the staff is incredible. Very DEI and friendly to anybody and everybody. They have a good culture and they have a really good overall inventory and good staff working the inventory.

  Absolutely top notch team of knowledgeable, skilled,, friendly technicians that just want to get you back on your bike! Shout out to Alex for going above and beyond on last visit. I brought my bike in for a brake bleed and he noticed a part was also missing on my shifter. He put in a special order for the whole replacement but didn’t charge me extra since they no longer made the part that was missing. Highly recommend Bike Team REI!

  I had a mixed experience at REI yesterday afternoon. The cashier was extremely helpful with my return/exchange. I was looking for a pair of climbing shoes that showed as in stock online, but after searching the climbing section for 10–15 minutes, I couldn’t find them and there was no staff around to help. The cashier kindly checked the back and found the pair for me. Unfortunately, the shoes were too big, so I waited in the footwear area to ask about another size. A young male employee there acknowledged and helped customers who arrived after me while I waited. When I finally asked him to check for another size, he seemed very impatient and told me to go back to the climbing section. I explained that I had already looked there and that the cashier had found this pair in the back. Without checking the inventory or even looking at the shoes I had, he simply told me there were no other sizes and went back to helping someone else. The cashier was wonderful, but the experience with the footwear employee was very disappointing and dismissive.

  I had a funny little REI pickup mishap recently. They accidentally left a bear canister out of my order, and because I’d just come off a long road trip, I didn’t notice until I was already 30–45 minutes toward my backpacking trailhead. I had to turn around since there’s no way to go without a canister. When I got back to the store, I assumed I must’ve forgotten to add it to my order, so I just bought one. A couple weeks later, I got an email saying I “failed to pick up” the canister… and they’re refunding it. I’ve never had issues with REI pickups before, so I’m chalking this up to normal human error. Just a reminder to double‑check your online pickup order before leaving the store.
