  Bought a pair of TOPO trail runners back in Nov. 2025. These are $155/pair. One shoe began to develop a hole in the achilles tendon area at about six months. Then the other one had the same issue. I thought no way after just over nine months will they do a return/exchange. Well, the woman who helped me, Kimberly, at REI East Hanover could not have been more accommodating. She did not cross-examine me, but rather suggested reasons that the wear had occurred. She gave me my refund and did it with a smile. Thank you, Kimberly!

  While they have good things, virtually everything is made in China or Vietnam and is being sold at ridiculously high prices...things they're paying $5 - $10 for are being sold to us for $80 - $100+...especially their own branded items for which they're receiving free promotions and advertising...you're paying them to advertise their products. They should seriously step back and make adjustments...

  We’ve been coming to this REI for a while now and the store is always so clean, stocked with great items, and most importantly we love the staff! Today we came in looking for some binoculars for our trip to Acadia and Patty helped educate us on the different types. She’s so incredibly genuine and passionate about the outdoors. It felt like we were talking to a good friend who truly wanted to eansure we had the best experience on our trip.

  Fantastic first experience that led us to becoming lifetime members. Bought a pair of hiking boots for myself and my partner. I would like to especially highlight the sales associate who helped us in the boot selection, Jonny. Despite being an admittedly difficult customer, he was informative, patient and extremely kind. If there is any commendation, promotion or raise you can give him, I would highly recommend it!

  The staff is great, and the products are fantastic. I absolutely love my raincoat; it’s actually waterproof! I didn’t realize it was a designer raincoat for $400, but let me tell you, it kept me dry, and that’s all that mattered to me. Thank you!
