I stayed at the Golden Nugget for 3 nights and paid close to $200 per night, and at that price point I just don’t feel the experience matched what I paid. There are definitely some positives. Parking is free, there are plenty of food options, the views of the bay are really nice, and drinks were easy to get while on the casino floor. Unfortunately, the hotel and casino are really starting to show their age. The cigarette smell throughout the property is very noticeable. After three nights, I could actually smell cigarettes in my hair and clothes, which was a big negative for me. The room also felt tired and overdue for an update. The furniture was chipped, scratched, and worn, and the bathroom was in similar condition and could definitely use some updating and a deeper cleanup. My bed sheets even had holes in them. Then there’s the $4 bottle of water in the room—at nearly $200 a night, either make the water complimentary or don’t put it there. The casino floor is also a lot smaller than many of the other casinos in Atlantic City. If I had paid $40–$50 a night, I probably wouldn’t have cared nearly as much about these things. But at close to $200 per night, I expected a much better maintained room and overall resort experience. It felt more like an upscale motel with a casino attached than a true resort. For around $50 a night, I’d stay again. At anything close to $200, I’d choose somewhere else in Atlantic City.

The staff was clearly unhappy, not many smiles. Our shower/ tub leaked all the time. We tried to have dinner at Lillys restraunt in the casino. It was not busy and we were ignored, sat at the table for 30 min without being waited on, so we left. Letme say that we are very experienced travelers and this hitel was one of the worst.

If you are not getting a newly renovated room, this place is old and needs updating. The rooms are not clean sheets stained and there were 2 dead flies in the bathroom.. the pool was full of algae and dead bugs. I would never stay here not even with a comp!!! The hotel is filled with "bus people" and not with a somewhat upscale customer.

So me my sister and my bf went here recently for a vacation over the weekend and we went to one of their restaurants in the building of our hotel room and we ate and had non alcoholic beverages and my sister had a few real drinks when it came time to pay I paid 110$ to our waitress in cash and two days before we checked out they put a charge on my sister for 43$ and told us it was the charge for our food there and now we are being charged 68$ two times for the time we ate at the On The Deck restaurant we have been at the desk 2 times after being told it was handled and they are now still trying to make us pay not for one charge but two when we only ate there once in 5 days and the actual bill was 84$ so if it were our charge it would have been higher but they didn’t want to listen and only wanted to get rid of our situation quickly despite us saying to review the footage or ask our waitress and this is all because I signed my name on a receipt when I paid cash so just remember if you pay in cash they might try to stiff you and charge your card anyways so keep your receipts so you don’t have to pay the charge twice everyone.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. The security there is incredibly rude and ignorant. We were all hotel staff because my friend accidentally signed the receipt while we were on the deck for dinner. They charged my card $42 after she paid in cash for it. They told us that was it because it was a hold and she signed it, and they would review the camera footage to make sure she paid for it. I’ve been waiting for a couple of days now to make sure that she paid cash, which I know she did, and now I have a $67.45 charge on my card. They don’t know who to give me to, and I don’t know who to direct them to. This has been an ongoing battle for weeks. I’m just going to have to go to my credit card company, but this is ridiculous. People book a vacation to relax, not to deal with dumb stuff like this.
