I went to the Golden Nugget among other Casinos on a two day Biloxi Birthday trip. Got Birthday freeplay at every 6 other casinos except Golden Nugget. I guess the property is afraid of peoples birthday luck. I was told that there is no birthday bonus, that my freeplay starts the day after my birthday, May 18th. I played a few slot machines and took my bankroll to Palace Casino and Island View shortly after... Lovely Casino, the rewards program seriously needs a look over.

BLUF: I don't recommend staying here due to room and pool "disappointments". Employees were professional and friendly, and the eateries and casino were better than average. The room: awkward bathroom design. Doorstop anchored to floor next to tub presents a safety hazard (see pic). Toilet seat tended to not stay upright after lifting, tub faucet handle came off in my hand. No soap in shower dispenser. No bathroom fan. Use of bowl vs sink left no room for personal grooming items. Most electrical outlets would not secure appliance connectors, which at times would just fall out of socket. One wall socket by balcony not secured at all (safety hazard). Ugliness of balcony flooring with cigarette butts spoiled a potentially beautiful view. The pool: I could not "Dive into Luxury" at H2O (the pool). The hype of the false advertising (see brochure pic) for this wading pool (pool depth is less than three feet and diving IS NOT ALLOWED!) caused a HUGE disappointment. To top that off, the toilets in the pool area's men's room (see pic) presented an unsafe situation for all but contortionists (my back is still quite painful), and the urinals are way too close together (I prefer not to rub shoulders while performing a private bodily function). We may come back to gamble or eat, but definitely not to stay.

5 day getaway! Parking garage is a little confusing. Signage on where to go for parking would be helpful. Initial impression of hotel was very nice and clean. Nice calm environment, smoking casino however it wasn't that obvious unless you where right next to someone smoking. Very nice Staff. Arriving to our room initially it was a little dated but roomy and comfortable. The first night I noticed one of the beds had an body odor smell on the pillows. The next day I decided to check the second bed and noticed pillow cases had makeup on them. I decided I would use my travel pillow but had concerns the bedding wasn't changed. Housekeeping provided me clean sheets and pillowcases and I changed them. Bath tub was wipe down clean could have used some detailed cleaning. I didnt notice the water was slimming during the weekend but changed on Monday. During the visit I noticed not to many waitresses in the casino for drinks. The pool area was nice minus the lovebugs everywhere! I couldnt enjoy the sun because they were constantly landing on me. Cabanas and large beds by the water are for rent only. Its a 2.5 star accommodations via the hotel room but I gave it 3 due to the casino and pool area.

I would never recommend this hotel! And definitely not if you are bringing children or teens. The entire place smells like an ashtray! Marijuana and cigarettes everywhere! People hanging out smoking MJ in the parking garage and inside and no one stops them. The elevators make buzzing noise and shake. The room was very spacious but dirty. Hairs in the bed, sticky and dusty surfaces. Our balcony had a cup full of nasty cigarette butts and water. The room is so dark with 3 lamps. Old outdated devices. The pool is a really far walk through the casino games and smoke. The pool is not for kids. Adults were grinding and possibly having full intercourse in the hot tub. It’s disgusting behavior for public. Kids weren’t allowed to have pool toys. My 16 year old wasn’t allowed to walk to the room without a parent. I wish they would’ve notified us of the child restrictions before we checked in or at least at check in.

The best part of the trip had to be the bedroom its self 2 queens and a jacuzzi tub. The shower water pressure was on point. The bed was super comfortable. I did see some blemishes on the bed frame itself but, wasn't worried. I got 2 nights of great rest. The floor was quite and easily accessible to out garage parking. We didn't get to enjoy the pool but, it looked well maintained. There was a water main break which prevented us from visiting one of the stores. We decided to find the items we liked online.
The casino had a lot of twists and turns. I can't say I came out a winner sadly. One of the nights I did ask for a whiskey and tea but the waitress said theres wasnt any sweet. She suggested hot tea. I said alright and boy was that the best hot toddy id ever had. The next night I wanted another before bed but, sadly another waitress made it and it was awful. I drank it down anyways though.
I wasn't to impressed with the cafe its next to the spa. Went for a late night snack. It wasn't any good and it was super slow service.
They had a few restaurants we didn't get to experience but, I am sure they would have been great.
Overall, we enjoyed our visit.
