  We booked our float trip on the Salmon River with Kingfisher River Company based on local recommendations, and we were glad that we did! The owners, Blake and Sadie, did an excellent job communicating and coordinating with us upfront to ensure the trip ran smoothly. Blake has been doing these trips for years, and his local knowledge and experience really showed. He is a very personable guy and a talented sweep boat operator. What a cool and traditional way to go down the river! We spent a month hiking and biking in Idaho, but our float trip with Kingfisher River Company was the absolute highlight of our trip!!

  We had an amazing experience with King Fisher! The whitewater rafting was an absolute blast, and the whole trip was made even better by the great food and hospitality. Ellary and Blake did an awesome job making everyone feel welcome and making sure we had a great time. The meals were delicious, the rafting was exciting, and the entire experience was something we’ll definitely remember. I would highly recommend King Fisher to anyone looking for an awesome rafting adventure!

  Just got home from SUCH an incredible two night family trip with KingFisher! We had 7 kids, ages 2 through 10…and a dog! While I was a little apprehensive about how it would all work out, the sweep boat was the perfect safe place for the littles, and the oar boats provided tons of excitement for the bigger kids! Blake and Sadie have such a deep knowledge, respect, and love of the area. From their in depth explanations of the geography of the river to their colorful historical stories, you can really feel how much the Salmon river means to them. I loved our hike up to one of the old mines in the area. Such a cool addition to our adventure. My favorite part of the trip was on the night of my daughter’s 8th birthday. They baked her a surprise cake over the fire in a Dutch oven. She got to spend her birthday on a sandy beach around a campfire at the base of a grand cliff with all of her cousins. It is a birthday I’m sure she will NEVER forget! Thank you to Blake, Sadie, and Ellary for a family experience that was one of a kind! You guys are THE BEST and we can’t wait for our next trip with you!!

  Our family recently completed a rafting trip on the Salmon River with Kingfisher Outfitters, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we started planning until the end of the trip, the entire experience was exceptional. Blake, Blaine, and Ellary were incredibly friendly, fun to spend time with, and made us feel like we were rafting with old friends. Their knowledge of the river, the surrounding area, and its history added so much to the experience. You could tell they genuinely love the area and take great pride in sharing it with their guests. Whether it was stopping to pick fresh apricots, pointing out ancient rock paintings, or helping us appreciate the incredible scenery, they made every day memorable. We watched bald eagles soar overhead and spotted bighorn sheep, deer, and countless other animals and birds. One evening we camped on an island beneath towering ponderosa pines, surrounded by wildlife. It was the perfect setting to unplug from phones and devices and simply enjoy being together as a family. We also appreciated how organized and prepared they were. Before the trip, they provided thorough packing lists and detailed information by email and text, then took the time to meet with us the evening before departure to answer questions and make sure everyone felt ready. Once on the river, everything ran smoothly. And there was always flexibility to stop for a swim or simply enjoy a beautiful spot along the way. Safety was clearly their top priority. We felt completely comfortable and well cared for on the river and at every campsite. The equipment was top-notch, impeccably maintained, and everything—from the rafts to the camp gear—was clean and in excellent condition. The food deserves its own mention. Every meal was outstanding, with restaurant-quality food and generous portions. They also went above and beyond to thoughtfully accommodate a food allergy. We packed some of our own snacks because we weren’t sure of what the food would be, and we never opened those up. Again, the food was outstanding. As first-time rafters, the rapids were exactly what we hoped for—exciting enough to be memorable while still feeling safe and appropriate for our family. It was the perfect introduction to river rafting. We can't thank Blake, Blaine, and Ellary enough for an unforgettable adventure. We would absolutely return for another trip with them and highly recommend Kingfisher Outfitters to anyone looking for an incredible family adventure on the Salmon River.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our family had the most incredible experience with Kingfisher on our full-day whitewater rafting trip! It truly exceeded every expectation we had and ended up being one of the highlights of our summer. From the moment we climbed aboard the “fun bus” and headed to the Salmon River, we knew we were in for a great day. Blake and Elerie made everyone feel welcome, and the safety briefing was clear and reassuring, giving us confidence before we hit the water. Elerie was an amazing guide. She navigated the rapids with confidence, kept us laughing, and made us feel safe the entire time. It was impressive to see how knowledgeable and poised she was, and she made the adventure so much fun for our whole family. The experience was so much more than just rafting. We stopped at little beaches along the way to swim and float, enjoyed an incredible riverside lunch with freshly grilled burgers and all the fixings, and even had a shaded setup with music playing that made it feel like the perfect summer day. One of our favorite parts was listening to Blake share the history of the Salmon River and the Sheepeater Tribe while pointing out landmarks along the way. On the drive back, we stopped at an old gold mine, felt the cool air coming from inside, and even got to pan for gold, a fun surprise that our family loved. We also saw so much wildlife, including golden eagles, bald eagles, bighorn sheep, a scorpion, and even a huge crawfish! Every part of the day felt like a new adventure. A huge shoutout to Jim for capturing incredible action photos throughout the day. Having those professional shots of us paddling through the rapids, laughing, and enjoying the adventure was the perfect way to relive the experience. They are memories we’ll treasure forever and were absolutely worth every penny. If you’re considering a rafting trip, don’t hesitate to book with Kingfisher.
