  We stopped in REI during a road trip and got the greatest service from a staff member names Holden. Very delightful to speak to and extremely helpful

  My experience with that store is mixed. It's related to the staff. The younger people seem energetic and motivated to be of assistance. Some of the older staff seem burned out and cranky. There's a lot of pressure on the shoe department. But employees are tired and distracted in shoes and not really motivated unless they are pushing their credit card. I get the distinct feeling they get a commission if a member signs up for a card. The store seems too small. Their actual inventory is limited. I don't want to buy equipment on line that my safety or life may depend on. I want to see it and feel it and talk with somebody who has actually used it or been in a situation where it was used.

  Never been to an REI that doesn’t allow pups. I can understand a restaurant but what a bummer

  Stock can be miss placed causing issues at checkout. But friendly, helpful staff, but again ID Law says they need to sell it at the lower price, but checkout staff is likely unaware. I was unaware as well at that time. Good out door store.
