  Security here like most all REI is ten out of ten. Top flight. Even the store associates all act like cops. They may be clueless on raglan sleeves, natural fibers or say box toe or toe drop regarding shoes but they sure they can compose a convincing statement & articulate before a judge on what they perceived to witness. they’ll win 🏆 in court

  I had a really poor experience with this location for a trip that should've ended in me spending about 1k and instead I spent 80 because I had no help. I could not find any employees. I spent about an hour and a half across three departments with a third of what I needed. I couldn't even find the departments from poor signage and went to the register twice to get an idea of where I should be looking either for expertise or the departments in general. Employees at other locations have been engaged, available and successfully performed cross department handoffs. Really a let down from a flagship location when I was a great opportunity

  This place is awesome and the staff is the best. They have my bike life when it needed it the most and was patient with me with all the question I had.

  Tl;dr My girlfriend was discriminated against (young, female, poc) and got much worse service than I did (white male). Went to REI with my girlfriend to get fitted for backpacks and i got my measurements taken then they ask my girlfriend if she had hers done before. She said no and was actively getting the measuring device set up and then they didn’t help her with it nor give her a number/measure her. They went back, brought out a backpack they eyeballed for her and one that fit me. Helped me put it on and asked me questions about it then left me and her to adjust all the straps for her backpack, put the weight in, etc. I got follow up questions and we had to prod them to bother helping my girlfriend. The first employee left mid helping us to take a 30 minute break and said another employee would help us who proceeded to ignore us since he had another customer he was helping already. Then we flagged a third employee down who while slightly more helpful was both incompetent and frustratingly never measured my girlfriend even when he asked if she had been measured yet. All male employees between 25-40 years old and clearly treating me (a white guy) completely differently than her. I wish I had said something more to the point about their behavior but here is a review so others know to go elsewhere.
