  The short answer for those who don’t want to read a ton is that THIS PLACE ROCKS!! The gentleman running the stand is extremely helpful, funny, and patient/kind. The river couldn’t be a more beautiful place to kayak, and the price was fantastic!! Pro tip, wear something you’re ok with getting wet and bring a change of clothes if you’ll be out for a while. I definitely got my shorts soaked (although I think that was my poor paddling skills, but if you’re a novice like I am, then you might have the same problem). Now, for those wanting a little more detailed info…I was walking around Mystic, CT and saw the Adventure stand down by the water. I was intrigued and watched as a gentleman helped pull some returning kayakers out of the water. He was so sweet with the kids that it made a total novice like myself feel comfortable going down there on a whim and booking a kayak for the hour. What was even better was when I saw the price was only $35 for the hour. I unfortunately didn’t get the gentleman’s name running the stand, but he was beyond helpful, courteous, and kind (even with a tough customer checking in at the same time as me). He gave me all the ins and outs of kayaking, tips for how to paddle, where to safely go in the water, what to do if I found myself in trouble, and places to look out for that might put me in a trickier situation. He purposefully started me going down the river and against the current so that I had an easier time on the way back. The hour on the water was great. It was calm with only a few areas of slightly stronger current, there weren’t too many boats out and the ones that were out were respectful or steering away from slightly rogue kayakers like myself. Great views of the shoreline as you go up and down the river and tons of space to cover in your hour. Must do if you’re in Mystic, CT!!

  They get ALL the stars! We had truly the best time kayaking on our vacation. Our daughter has special needs and Jeff and his incredible staff accommodated our family so that we could all go out on the water together. It was so special and a memory we will never forget! THANK YOU!

  So fun! I have known Jeff maybe 8/9 years & am grateful to have had the opportunity to bring my friends on a fun kayaking adventure! The staff were super professional, helpful & Melissa took lots of pictures & got some great footage. It was super easy to schedule an adventure online! I also went paddleboarding again maybe a week later with some of my favorite people. I managed to get there early & we all enjoyed a lovely summer morning paddle on the calm river… I am always suggesting Adventure Mystic not only from my own experience, but because I know they’ll be taken care of & have fun also. Until the next adventure! Thanks guys 🥰

  Only concern was parking.. we got there and no parking but got lucky after going around block a spot opened. Young men where awesome and we had a great time! Recommend 💯 percent. There maybe a parking lot near by but that im not sure and beautiful center all the shops.

  Jeff was awesome to deal with. We purchased 2 used SUPs from him and he delivered them right to our house in Niantic free of charge. He even carried them down to our dock, gave us a lesson and let us take them out for a test ride. He brought two options for my husband since he wasn’t sure what he would like. Excellent service and communication. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
