  Always a good experience but my visit yesterday was the best. Very kind and helpful employees. I was there to buy new trail running shoes and the person I worked with was very knowledgeable and got me into an amazing shoe.

  I’ve visited about 30 REI stores all around the country and this is a great store. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Everyone was well trained and knew what they were talking about. Well stocked for all types of adventures. The manager Patrick was very friendly and helpful at checkout. Good vibes here.

  Why would you shop here when there are so many local shops with the same, if not better, gear? The moment you walk in the door get ready to be accosted with aggressive sales pitches for everything from the loyalty program, to the credit card, to the sale this weekend that will save you $3 on the $300 piece of equipment you're looking at! Also, why doesn't this store carry ski and snowboard gear? There's literally a dozen world class ski resorts within an easy day trip. Save yourself the hassle and shop at the plethora of local mom and pop gear shops in town.

This Grand Junction location lives up to everything the brand stands for: well organized, fully stocked, and dialed in. The team is a big part of it. Staff is knowledgeable, approachable, and actually helpful—not pushy, just genuinely there to make sure you get what you need. That makes a huge difference, especially when you’re dialing in gear for the mountains or the desert. Selection is strong across the board—bikes, camping gear, apparel—you name it. And everything feels curated, not just thrown on shelves. Bottom line: it’s always a good call to stop by REI, and this location is no exception. Reliable, well run, and exactly what you want when you’re getting ready to get outside.
