I experienced repeated unacceptable treatment from the store manager, Courtney, whose behavior was unprofessional and discriminatory. A couple of weeks ago, I visited to return an item due to sizing. The cashier was helpful, but Courtney intervened, aggressively inspected the tag, and questioned my integrity. The return was completely valid, yet no apology was given. Today, the situation escalated. I purchased about $370 worth of merchandise. As I was checking out, Courtney again stepped in. I politely requested another cashier, but she refused. She then forced five items into one small bag. When I requested a second bag, she claimed there was a “theft prevention policy.” I am handicapped and had to walk to the parking lot worried the bag would tear. She could not provide any proof of this policy. Even when I asked about splitting into two transactions, she denied that as well. After leaving, I contacted customer service, who confirmed that no such one-bag policy exists. Meanwhile, other customers nearby were given multiple bags for their purchases and were visibly shocked by how I was treated. Based on these repeated incidents, I felt unfairly and selectively treated. This was humiliating and unacceptable. A company like Express should not have managers who treat customers this way.
