  I was looking at clothing that are what I like to wear in the younger section today. I am 53, and have my own style I wear. As I was looking at a spaghetti strap top, an employee approached me. She told me I was looking in the teenage young women's section. I told her I know, these are the types of clothes I wear. I have been doing a lot of healing over the last three years. Growing up I was never allowed to wear spaghetti straps or sleeveless clothes. So I choose to wear them now, because they make me feel good. Also, three and a half years ago, I was SA'd. Wearing the clothes I want is part of my healing process for what happened to me. We women should be able to wear what we want, without any harm or judgements from others. The woman employee told me if I was to wear those clothes, I needed to wear an XL top. I told her I wear size medium in these clothes, and pointed to my strapless top I was wearing. She would not believe me, and insisted I try on an XL top. I pointed and told her I had just tried on the dresses next to the top, and the mediums fit me. She left me alone after that, but I decided to leave because I am not going to buy anything from a place who have rude employees. My suggestion is to train your employees better on how they treat their customers. Her words hurt deep. Especially since I have lost a lot of weight over the last 4 years, and have been so happy to wear clothing I want to wear.

  This place is not selling non JCPenney items from outside retailers. They are trying to be a marketplace - however buyer beware as they will charge you shipping and if it the item is wrong (although described as right) you will not get your shipping charge back and you have to pay to ship it back or take it back to a physical store. I bought twin sheets and they claimed to fit my deep mattress however they do not. They also smelled like chemicals even after I washed them with a fabric scent booster. Disgusting how a company as reputable as JCPenney has spiraled down the corporate path and no longer maintains the quality they were known for in the past.

  JCPenney’s is my favorite store not only because they have great discounts and great selections but especially because of their wonderful employees and Iid especially like to take a moment to recognize iris she works so hard cleaning the fitting rooms , organizing the go backs putting them away making store look awesome while recovering the drift depts always so happy and helpful and especially gives the best customer service going above and beyond she deserves to b acknowledged by corporate and promoted jc Pennie’s is lucky to have her and that’s why I keep coming back to say hello to that beautiful kind soul Also, I have had wonderful experiences as well with Miss April she has so much experience and knowledge helping me decide which product is best in the make up dept , and also at the register having Citlali ring me up and provided me with fantastic service & with a beautiful smile thank u iris Citlali April u all deserve recognition and a promotion 💙💛

  Pennys,like everywhere else is way to expensive for me,I will never,never go back,they raised prices so high I hope see see them go out of business, cause they wont have mine anymore..,im so done with pennys,I will shop at thirft stores.

  Update: I went back the next day and they kindly helped me with the return, got the manager and there were no problems. Turns out the store will honor what is printed on the receipt. The gentleman that helped me today was kind and there were no problems. Lolly, who refused to help me yesterday, and the manager guy on site at that time, were both rude and unapologetic for refusing to honor the policy written on the receipt. Original review: I had a return, a few pretty necklaces I bought for a wedding that my daughters didn't like and wouldn't wear. The receipt literally says right on it that purchases made after October 1st can be returned until January 31st. I went in to return it and the associate (Lolly) said it was past their 60 day return policy and they can't do anything. She called the manager on duty to the front and he doubled down and said the same thing. They told me I can come back another day and talk to a regional manager, but they were unable to help me, despite it saying it right on the receipt that they could be returned until January 31st. The receipt didn't say anything about a 60 day return policy. The associates were so rude! They gave me the number of the JC Penny credit card company to call, as if they could help me with this issue, which wasn't helpful at all. I called the normal JCPenny customer service, they say they can't help either because it's not an online purchase. ______ They did honor it ultimately, I just had to waste my time coming back a different day to talk to more capable associates.
