Called in before about switching a scope. Traveled hour and a half just for them to lie to me and say they can’t do it . And it’s not the first time they have done something like this too.

Don’t recommend. We live an hour and half away. We called about trading a scope before driving down. The lady verified everything was good to go and was told no further information. So we make the trip. We get there and they tell us that we can’t trade it. They need to train their employees better.

I went in this morning about 9:15 to buy an umbrella and was carrying my backpack with me because I'm on a mountain bike and that's my transportation. I just needed to buy a simple umbrella but I was told that I needed to leave my backpack at the front counter. Obviously they assumed that people that go shopping with backpacks are criminals which is not the case with me, therefore I just told the sales associate that was very direct with me and firm that I will just go shop some place else for my umbrella.

I went into Sportsman’s Warehouse hoping to ask a few basic questions about firearms, which I quickly learned was a bold and unreasonable request to make at the firearms counter. The employees gave off the strong impression that helping customers was not actually part of the job description, but more of an optional side quest they had zero interest in accepting. Every question I asked was met with the same energy you’d expect from someone being asked to help move a hot tub up three flights of stairs. The attitude was dismissive, the effort level was truly inspiring in the worst possible way, and the overall vibe was that I had rudely interrupted their very demanding schedule of standing around, avoiding eye contact, and guarding the pistols from people trying to legally buy them. I understand not every employee is going to be a firearms expert. That’s fine. But basic customer service should not feel like trying to pull wisdom teeth out of a raccoon with rusty pliers. If you work in the gun department, there is a decent chance customers may ask questions about guns. Shocking development, I know. The funniest part is that they seemed weirdly committed to not selling me a pistol. I have a CCW, I’m a firearms instructor, and I have a clean record, but somehow the process at Sportsman’s felt like I was applying for clearance to enter Area 51. Luckily, I went to Impact Guns afterward, and they managed to complete the same basic transaction the same day without acting like paperwork was an ancient forbidden ritual. Imagine that. Overall, the experience was frustrating, unhelpful, and oddly hostile for no clear reason. If you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience while trying to spend money, Sportsman’s Warehouse has perfected the art form. Otherwise, I’d recommend going to a smaller shop where the employees are awake, helpful, and aware that customers are not mythical creatures sent to ruin their afternoon.

They charged me full price for an item that I found out later that day was over half off online. I then spent 20 minutes on the phone to be told that since I had been busy and didn't get in touch within 7 days there was nothing they could do for me
