- GMGavin MasseyJun 25, 20261.0I returned an item I bought with my Schwab debit card. The printed return receipt shows the refund went to a Capital One card I've never owned and never had. I'm out $177.64. I called customer service and they were not helpful at all. They told me it was processed as an exchange on the 23rd, but my return receipt is dated the 26th and clearly shows a refund to a card that isn't mine. Those two things don't add up, and nobody could explain it. I asked for help and never even got a call back. It's been well over 10 a month with no refund to my actual card. I've had to file a dispute with my bank and a police report because I think this is theft. The fact that a refund can be keyed to some random card and the company does nothing to investigate it is alarming. Check your return receipts closely — the last four digits should match the card you paid with. Mine didn't, and Nordstrom couldn't have cared less.
