  Very disappointing experience at this location. It felt like customers were not welcome if they entered the store after 6:30 PM. What was particularly frustrating was that a staff member clearly saw me walking toward the fitting room around 6:35 PM, yet proceeded to close it right in front of me without saying a word or offering any apology. The lack of courtesy and customer service was disappointing. Customers should not be made to feel rushed or unwelcome during posted business hours. Based on this experience, I do not plan to visit this location again.

  Shoppers beware, JCPenney seems to have a program in place to sign you up for a credit account/card even if you don’t want one. Here’s what happened to me: 0n 4/29/26, I went to Penny’s to purchase two pair of casual dress slacks. This was the first time in years I actually shopped for cloths. My wife did all the shopping, I hate to shop. She’s now deceased and I had to go and get what I needed. As I was checking out, the clerk asked if I had a Penney’s credit card, I could save some money on that days purchases. I clearly told her, “I don’t want another credit card, I have two I already use and I don’t want a third one”. She said, “well I’m going to save you some money today and get you a discount”. She proceeded to enter some information on the credit card keypad.When she asked me for my social security number red flags went up. I asked her again if she was putting me in for a credit card. She said, “no, I’m just getting you a discount today”.I asked her who needed my social security number? She said “the store just needed it to get me the discount today”. Not shopping at Penney’s for clothes in the past I was suspect, but my wife always shopped there. I asked where this info was going and she said “we don’t save it”. Again, I told her “I do not want a credit card. Are you putting me in for a credit card”? She said, “no, I’m just getting you a discount”. After ringing me up I again asked her if she had put me in for a credit card and she said “Yes, but you can cut it up and not use it”. I asked her to call a manager. She went over to a phone and pretended to call for one and came back and said there weren’t any on duty. I asked where the office was and she said “we don’t have one”. I knew this wasn’t true. I went to the other end of the store to the Returns desk and asked for a manager. She got me one right away. I told the manager what happened and she said she’d take care of it. She called the third party credit Penny’s uses and explained what happened. After talking to that person she handed me the phone. The man on the other end apologized for what happened and looked up my new credit account and said he’d remove it immediately. Well, that didn’t happen. I got an email from Credit Wise telling me I now had a new account and my credit rating dropped nine points as a result. It’s now in the hands of the BBB who said my complaint was valid. Let’s see what happens.

  List open til 7pm. Got there at 6:10 pm lady locked doors just as I was approaching and didn't even say a word. Very unprofessional, that store doesn't need to be open
