- JMJocelyn M.Jul 19, 20261.0The manager who I believe is named Kera at the Walt Whitman Mall store was not helpful when I came into the store to remove an alarm from a dress that was purchased back in May. I did not have the receipt because it was a gift, but I had an image of the bank transaction to show the manager. She glanced at it and asked me for an email address instead, she told me she needed proof. The exchange was very unfriendly and I felt discriminated against. I reminded her that it was the store's mistake not mine and that I was taking time out of my personal day to do this. She started to argue with me and things got worse (I am leaving out details). I ultimately made a formal complaint and Madewell contacted me quickly, they were able to verify the purchase and issue me a refund. They also apologized. I am satisfied with this outcome. I don't know what action if any they took against the manager and I am not following it. However I hope for the sake of future customers they at minimum made her go into training and education. She should be fired.
