- SCS CAug 16, 20261.0Good afternoon. I am writing to complain about the service at this store. Yesterday, I went to the store and decided to pay using Klarna. I felt humiliated by the sales associate, who was impatient and rushing me. I swiped my card, and she said the transaction hadn't been authorized. I showed her proof that the charge had gone through, but she refused to listen to me. She made me repeat the purchase, and now I’m being charged twice by Klarna—all because a sales associate wouldn't check the system properly? The way people are treated at this store is unacceptable. I was already embarrassed, so I didn't want to push the issue, even though I hadn't wanted to repeat the purchase. Now I’m wasting an absurd amount of time dealing with Klarna; they refuse to resolve it, claiming JCPenney received payment twice and that I’ll only get a refund if JCPenney cancels the transaction. The chat-based customer service is also poor and fails to resolve the issue. So now, I’ll have to file a complaint with the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs to finally get my money back. I’m never coming back here; the service at this store is consistently impatient. It’s a shame because I love the store itself, but from now on, I’ll only go to the Queens location, where I always receive excellent service. They treat customers with such courtesy and kindness there.
