I rarely leave reviews, but after what my daughter and I have experienced over the past two weeks, I feel obligated to share.
On July 18, 2026, my AC stopped working. I submitted an emergency maintenance request, and a technician said it was fixed. The very next day it stopped working again. With temperatures over 100 degrees outside and my apartment reaching 80 degrees, I was wheezing from my asthma and had to leave my home.
From that point on, I was repeatedly told the issue was fixed, only for the AC to fail again. I was later told the compressor had failed, then that the replacement compressor was defective, requiring another replacement. Throughout this process, communication was extremely poor. Maintenance often left without providing updates, and on more than one occasion left my apartment unlocked. The leasing office was even unaware of the status of my maintenance request at one point.
A single window unit was eventually installed, but in my two bedroom apartment it only kept the temperature between 76 and 77 degrees. Both my daughter and I have asthma, and these conditions have been difficult and unhealthy. I was also promised a second portable unit, but it never arrived.
I have spent additional money finding places for my daughter to stay when the apartment became unbearable, and my electric bill has increased because the AC has continuously struggled to cool the apartment. When I asked about compensation, I was told the window unit was my compensation.
As of July 29, after nearly two weeks of repeated repairs and broken promises, my apartment still will not cool below 80 degrees.
Equipment can fail, but no tenant should have to live through this with little communication, repeated failed repairs, and no sense of urgency. I pay my rent on time, often early, and simply expect a safe and habitable home. I hope no other resident has to experience what my family has endured.
FIRST CLASS - RELIABLE - ORGANIZED - PROFESSIONAL
I have lived at this community for 6 years. From the rapid maintenance response to the attention to detail on property grounds, this community understands what is important and valuable to their residents. Every interaction I've had with office has been positive. Kudos to Madison (Madi), Karen, Ashly and Reyna. They have helped make my apartment what I now call my home. I am proud to and highly recommend The Abbey at Spring Town Center.

Lived here for 3 years when I first got to the greater Houston area.
TLDR: it's a nice place to live with solid amenities and good, kind staff all around. if I had to move into an apartment again in the area, I would come back to The Abbey. details below.
Good:
- they have the most competitive rental price in the area for what you get
- near MANY restaurants, shopping centers, a movie theater, grocery stores, gas stations
- generally safe area
- gated, if that's important to you
- fair amount of parking for you and guests
- not very noisy
- all the staff are very kind
- pool area is nice
- maintenance never took long. I think the most I ever waited was like 2 days for something minor. major fixes were much quicker.
- no huge issues with bugs (I lived on the third floor, for reference) and they have extermination services that come by at least twice a year.
- something they did that was really cool when I moved in was they offered to paint an accent wall in the bedroom for a pretty good rate. not sure if they're still doing that, but that was a nice touch.
- never had problems with mold or moisture intrusion.
- fitness center is pretty basic, but if you're not like an athlete or a bodybuilder it'll do the job.
Not so Good:
- the area is generally prone to losing power during anything more intense than a thunderstorm. when the derecho and hurricane hit us within a few weeks in 2024, we lost power both times for at least 24 hours. even during heavier thunderstorms you could expect to lose power or internet for a bit.
- typical rent increase stuff that you gotta battle with the GM. I understand it's typical apartment practice or whatever, but it's like you're punishing good tenants for staying at a place they like, whereas a new tenant is getting the best possible rate.
- appliances are OKAY. electric stove and oven with that like glass stovetop so if you cook regularly on it you will likely damage it,. washer/dryer units are a bit dated and very basic. fridge/freezer is standard.
- get your outlets checked and serviced upon moving in, especially the ones in the kitchen if you intend to use like an air fryer, instant pot, toaster oven, any of that stuff. it can be a pain when you're cooking and the outlet goes out on you so you gotta restart everything.
