  My partner and I have been living at The Elwood for about four months now, and we absolutely love it! The first thing that sold us on The Elwood was how polite, genuine, and welcoming Mikel was. The floor plan was definitely a factor in our decision, but having such a wonderful leasing professional in the office truly makes all the difference. We immediately felt comfortable when we met Mikel and she gave us a tour. Honestly after meeting her I didn’t even want to tour any other complexes! The amenities are great, the neighbors are nice, and the community is diverse, always clean and well maintained. The floor plans are beautiful, and we really love our apartment. Parking was a little frustrating for us at first, but we were eventually able to purchase reserved parking spots, and that has been a total game changer and headache reliever. Overall, I’m so happy we made the decision to live here. We’ve had a wonderful experience so far, and we will very likely be renewing our lease next year! Highly recommend Elwood, especially if you’re lucky enough to work with Mikel!

  MIKEL!!!!!!!!!!! I’m usually not one to leave reviews, but Mikel absolutely deserves one!!!! From the very beginning she made everything feel smooth, welcoming, & most importantly stress free! Even now (10 Months Later) anytime I need help with ANYTHING she is always kind, professional & willing to help. Even when I'm frustrated, she brings a positive vibe.... Whether I call, email, or come into the office she is consistent. She is honestly one of the biggest reasons I enjoy living here so much. To be honest, because of her I would recommend this community to anyone WITH CONFIDENCE! I just really appreciate everything she does.

  I do not recommend these apartments to anyone! My stay ended in total disappointment and outright deception. At first, everything seemed fine, but things got completely out of hand after I checked out. The management is trying to pin non-existent issues on me and is demanding money for absolutely everything! They are slapping me with made-up fines and charges for damages, banking on the hope that the tenant will just pay up without questioning it. They refuse to return the security deposit using flimsy excuses, and their communication has become rude and aggressive. This isn't service; it’s a blatant money-grabbing scam. If you want to avoid stress, financial loss, and extortion after you leave, stay far away from this place!

  Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience with the management. They came across as rude and seemed impatient when I was asking questions. I was actually very interested in moving into one of their apartments, because the apartments were really nice! but the way my questions were handled by Mikel made me reconsider. When you’re considering a new place to live, you want to feel like the management is willing to answer your questions with patience and genuine interest. Because of this experience, I’m not sure I would consider moving here anymore.

  I parked my car on Sunday in a spot that was not marked as paid parking. I know exactly which spots in the complex are paid and I deliberately avoided those. On Monday they put up a paid-parking sign on that exact spot. Monday evening they towed my car, with no email, no phone call, and no notice to move it first. A warning would have been the normal thing to do. When I went to the front desk, they told me the signs had not been put up recently. That was a lie. A few days later two more paid spots appeared. I spoke with the person who actually installs the signs and asked when the sign was put on the spot where I parked. He said clearly: Monday. Later, management claimed I “knew” I had parked in a paid spot because I mentioned it in a review after the incident. I only wrote that because that is what they were saying — even though there was no sign there when I parked on Sunday. This behavior is completely inappropriate: no transparency, lies at the front desk, and an attempt to twist what I said. I do not recommend.
